if you briefly lose internet connection, does to unit power itself back on?

There seems to be two questions here, one about briefly losing an internet connection and another about losing power. What I've noticed is that if there is a glitch with the internet connection, it will recover automatically as long as the streaming station is still up and running. On the other question, I have simulated a brief loss of power by quickly pulling out the power cord and plugging it back in. In this case, the radio reboots and sits there in the standby state waiting for someone to hit the "power button" and then it will reconnect to the station that was playing when the power was lost.

The original "cc wifi" could not intelligently choose between wifi mesh extender units with the same name/ssid. has this been fixed?

Yes, it has. Our new CC WiFi 3 Internet Radio will show all networks in range and next to the network name it will show signal strength bars on the display.

Can you connect the unit to the internet via ethernet, or only wifi?

The unit is designed for WiFi connection. There is no ethernet connector plug on the unit - so I don't think you can connect by ethernet. It works great using WiFi.

Can i listen short wave radio ?

No, not possible; only stations that play over the Internet.
