Igennus Ultra EPA Omega 3 500mg, DHA-Free, 90 Softgels

Tested my lab values prior to starting. Took for 3 months and lab values were improved to significant degree, so evidently the bottle contains what it said it contained. Not a scientific study, but I will continue as part of my exercise and statin and other medical prescriptions.

So far so good after 1 week. Will update on triglycerides after next bloodwork session.

UPDATE:The cap issue has been fixed! The last 3 bottles have had a cap that actually comes off. These have been great, no fishy aftertaste. No complaints about the product itself but the packaging is terrible. I had to pry off the lid the first time the issue occurred and ended up cutting myself on the metal lid. The second time I saved myself the hassle and just used a can punch to cut through it but then the container was useless. I've just been refilling the last jar that actually opened properly. I've gotten 3 in a row that felt like they were welded shut. If the packaging is improved, I'll revise my rating.

Aside from the price which is higher than other fish oils, I believe this EPA pill works better for me than a combination pill, based on a liberal interpretation of some research reports and personal experience.

I was stoked to find Omega-3 with only EPA and no DHA which is very hard to find at a reasonable price. UPDATE: I started taking this on January 1st or 2nd and by my birthday February 13th my irritability and grumpiness had significantly decreased. I was basically CONSTANTLY irritable and grumpy. I had decided that everybody in the world had become slow, stupid, and ugly which thinking of course is a hallmark of depression and moood dysegulation. 5 months later and my mood is still improved. Of course I am doing other things and not depending 100% on this product like talk therapy, exercise, pet therapy, and music therapy. Those other things were already a part of my life and were not cutting it. When I started taking this I made a concerted effort to make no other changes so that I would know whether it was the product or not that was affecting any improvement that happened. I highly recommend this product. Not only is it efficacious but it seems to be free from harmful ingredients and the cost is reasonable.

I suffer from Intractable Pain Disease and this is one of the best things my pain specialist recommended! There is no taste to the gel caps, they are easy to swallow.. and that was one of the most important things I was looking for in a HIGH EPA Omega-3. This brand is exceptional. I also take Vitamin D-3, and Melatonin. The combination of the three, working together is amazing! My pain level is MUCH more tolerable, my MOOD is greatly improved, I sleep better and wake up refreshed. I am extremely happy with this Pure & Essential Ultra Pure EPA Omega-3 Concentrate and will continue buying it. I highly recommend it!!! I hope this was helpful.

I have been using prescription Omega 3's for the past few years to control my triglycerides because they were out of control. The first prescription was for Lovaza, which contains a mix of EPA and DHA. It worked okay but DHA can raise your cholesterol level so I had to start taking atorvastatin in addition to the Lovaza. My doctor switched me to a newer brand (Vascepa) of Omega 3's that was pure EPA. This worked very well to control my triglycerides without raising my cholesterol. However, it is very expensive and I no longer have prescription drug coverage. So, I have been searching and searching for an affordable substitute since I have to take 4 Grams a day! I was extremely happy to find the Pure Essentials Ultra EPA, it is the closest thing to the Vascepa that I have been able to find and most importantly, can afford to buy. I have only been taking it for a few weeks but so far everything seems good. They are small so they are easy to swallow and I haven't gotten any nasty fish burps. I will update this once I have been taking it for a few months and get my triglycerides checked again.

I am not even sure I want to try to pry these things apart. They are all fused together in the bottle. Of course I can't return.
