These are small enough to allow sliding windows to close without the pieces touching each other. It also allows for a maximum of .75" of gap to trigger relay with the magnet. I highly recommend these for anyone who wants to mount within the track vertically and have magnet placed on window side as i did or mount relay horizontally on top of window track and place magnet on window top where it will not be seen. Either way is totally on your preference and desired look but even when magnet is placed on the window side vertically it is very inconspicious and requires a keen eye to see especially if product colour and window are the same. I gave it 4 stars because the relay termination screws cannot take any excessive tightening when screwing wires on as the screw point is connected by a solid lead wire and can become loose or broken as was my experience, if soldering skills exist it can be easily mended to restore. 3m tape on both pieces allow for quick fixing of either piece to surfaces, be reminded though the relay part has no base and instead covered with 3m tape directly so when tape is removed as was the case in trouble shooting the damaged one the terminal and connections can be seen together with what looks like hot glue fixing things in place. So far have mounted 8 pairs on exterior windows and series 5 of them to link several windows and all works weel thus far.Suggest a drop of hot glue for fixing if you dont want to rely totally on the 3m tape. Hope this helps anyone who has double sliding windows or doors with insect screen that slides very close to window or door frame preventing the use of other contacts, these fit the bill perfect surface mounted requiring no drilling.

Had a new door installed and the door guy just sort of shrugged when I asked about the alarm contacts. Fortunately these took care of the issue. Love the smaller size.

So far so good. They have a wide range and are working nicely in all our windows. Looking much better than the other big alternatives. The 3M paper is not very good, so I had to add some clear caulk.

Easy install and great parts! Fast service too!
