Awesome book!
These exercises are simple, yet effective. The concept of becoming a hero is a neat premise! A few quick notes to accompany:1. The description of the item is accurate, be sure to look inside the book online to see the set-up and the modifications.2. The book can be done without any extra equipment, but there are options to choose a weapon, and on some days there will be a separate workout for that weapon. Some of the weapons are free, like running, while others will require a jump rope or free weights or another piece of equipment. This is something to consider. Also, if you have quite a bit of weight to lose, or find brief periods of time on the floor to be uncomfortable, I would also purchase an exercise mat. For those that struggle with back pain or have more than 50lbs to lose, I would recommend a 2 inch trifold exercise mat. It will make a world of difference.3. There are days where you can choose your workout. One is more difficult and the other is less demanding. There is a portion in the back of the book that gives you the “consequences” of your choice. If you choose the easier workout you may end up doing extra reps on another day to make up the difference, while choosing the harder workout will give you a reprieve on certain days. If you plan to follow the book to the letter, you may be shocked to find out that the easier workout day will cost you down the road!4. Portability isn’t the greatest. The book is just big enough that it may be awkward to carry to the park or the gym. If I were someone planning to do this workout outside the home, I would simply take a picture of that day’s workout with my phone and follow the picture while leaving the book at home.If you are very overweight, this is a perfect way to get in shape. There are modifiers for exercises that may prove too difficult, and there are varying levels of difficulty in every workout. Also the workout is numbered by day, so if you need to take a day off after a particularly grueling workout, there is no “Monday’s Workout” or other day of the week title to discourage you for getting out of place. Just go to the next day! Also, this workout program can be recycled and used again and again. It is also challenging enough following the Level III exercises with no modifier that a person with a great fitness base would be pushed to the limit! This entire program can be completed within the comfort of your own home, but there are additions that may require you to go to your backyard at the least. If you are using this program to lose weight and you do not want to leave your living room I would buy a cordless jump rope and an exercise mat to accompany this book.It’s a fabulous book with a great story and time-tested exercises. Do not hesitate to buy it!

An inspiration...
Sent this as inspiration to an acquaintance doing time. It was so popular with all of the inmates that my acquaintance left it when he was released.

Both entertaining and challenging
I have absolutely loved "Hero's Journey," so much that I keep checking DAREBEE's profile on Amazon to see if they've added any others--say, "Carbon and Dust" or "Age of Pandora" hint hint? Not only is it tremendous fun to go through, but the portability of a non-electronic source means I can take it to work, outside, in the basement, or the living room, and I've been able to write down notes on the facing page for each day of exercise. There was enough variety to keep my interest, and I have no doubt I will come back to it someday for a repeat, and level up. I only wish I could have that same flexibility in my next workout without printing it all out! One warning here--the workouts look easy. No exercise is particularly difficult to perform. The kicker is the number of repetitions and sets required, which can take quite awhile if you challenge yourself. And, if you choose Bow and Arrow (Running) as your weapon, you can sometimes expect to add another hour of exercise after the first part!All told, I heartily recommend both this book, and the other programs available on DAREBEE's website. I will be waiting to see what other adventures I can attempt.

A clever way to get exercise part of your everyday life.
This was a well received gift for my nephew. He wants to be fit but he as many others are computer obsessed. This book shows how easy it is to get fit and have fun with the game aspect.

No Gym/Equipment Necessary
This is an awesome, no equipment necessary workout plan and journal! The journal and “story” help keep you motivated. You can complete the whole book from anywhere—all you really need’s enough space to be able to lie fully on the floor. I’m currently deployed, pulling twelve-hour shifts, and I scored a 273 on my APFT after doing nothing but following this book for the 60 days it takes (with three days rest after completing and before my test). Would highly recommend to anyone who hates going to a gym or who can’t afford, can’t find the time to go to a gym or who simply hates being surrounded by gym rats and people who hang around gyms because they believe their presence there alone will get them results.

I LOVE this book!!! I am on day 12 and already feel stronger. I look forward to every day to see what is next. It is so much fun!

Surprisingly fun challenge
I'd recommend any of the books from this series for anyone at any fitness level. But this one is more for fun and as a challenge. Started it, enjoyed it and had fun working through it one day at a time. Sort of a fun way to train and a day to day challenge that mixes up your training to keep you interested in the routines and the challenge over 60 days.

This book will be my partner for the next 60 days...
Hero's Journey program is certainely one of the most popular from Darebee's website. It's like playing a video game but with real consequences in your life: you change your body and you strengthen you mind.Having the book gives your quest another dimension. It becomes even more personal and real, like a diary of your adventures. On every right pages there's a space to write coments (level, points, feelings...)
