I don't necessarily feel like it does anything to help prevent the door slamming ...
When summer rolled around, I found that the door to our daughter's nursery started to stick. My husband tried to sand down the top of the door, but to no avail.I thought this would help with the sticking. It did, but only sort of. It was A LOT bigger than I anticipated and since we have the head of the lady-bug facing into my daughter's room, it means that when her door is closed, all you can see is a lady-bug butt in the hallway. I don't necessarily feel like it does anything to help prevent the door slamming or anything, but that wasn't the reason I purchased it in the first place.We continue to keep it up because my daughter likes it. It is now part of our bed-time routine to say goodnight to the ladybug. It's not going anywhere, but I don't know how much benefit it provides, except as a night-time friend to our daughter. (Which is enough of a reason for me to keep it up on her door)

Works great! Use door stop on inside of door to prevent fully open position.
I’m an adult, and I love this product! I use it to keep by door ajar do the cats can come and go to their litter box...I have no worry that they will be “locked out” when duty calls.

We have a door that doesnt want to stay open/closed so this has worked great when we want the door partially open. My kids love it too!
