are instructions provided on how to use these with behind the ear vs. custom aids? if so, what are they?

I bought this for someone in his mid 80's who couldn't hear the beeps when he tested his hearing aids. They were Costco purchased hearing aids. The hearing aid sits behind the ear and has a wire with a bulb that fits in the ear. it was hard for him to remove the bulb and insert the remaining mechanism in the stethoscope. It does bring the sound of the test to the ears. My hearing is good and I continued to check the hearing aids for him. I would google the exact description of the stethoscope and see if you can find some instructions.
