A beautiful machine, but below expectations
Biggest plus is the build of hardware. Solid, stylish. Battery life, sound are extremely disappointing. Battery doesn't last for more than 6 hours even with most economical use (browsing only, low brightness). As to sound, my other laptop i.e MacBook Air 2019 version has a much better sound quality and battery life.

Fantastic Laptop Especially For Photography
I'm an IT manager by day and an avid photographer. I also do a lot of 3D design for 3D printing. I've always had a preference for Asus products, especially Zenbooks. The Flip is no exception. Superb bright and calibrated screen. Stong performance. Quick to boot. Decent amount of RAM. Great battery life and, if you are the type of person who leaves their laptop permanently powered, clever power modes to stop the battery life being destroyed.Unlike others have said, the pen is not a gimmick. It's extremely useful for photo editing. Makes manual masks in Lightroom and Photoshop an absolute breeze. Being able to flip the screen 180 degress for an almost tablet-like experience is also great for photo editing. The only slight reservation is the choice of Intel graphics chip, if you are using something like Fusion 360 for 3D design, you have to pull down the rendering quality slightly but that does not significantly detract from an overal superb package for the money.

A laptop I can't use on my lap
I wanted to replace my old Lenovo S540 laptop and Samsung Galaxy S7+ with just one appliance and this looked perfect: 2-in-1, small, lightweight, superb oled screen, windows for my photo editing, excellent battery, etc.As you unpack it you can't help but feel impressed. Everything just screams quality: a beautiful brushed metal cover, nice keyboard and smooth touch pad that doubles as a numeric pad. The OLED screen looks superb, with deep blacks and strong colours that just about matches my Galaxy S7+ for quality. It's when I started using it that the problems started.Fan noise: it just doesn't stop. Web browsing, reading Kindle, checking emails; it's always on. It was hitting nearly 60 db when I used my Lightroom photo editing and my partner couldn't watch the TV because of the noise.Too hot: again, even after just 20 minutes at low usage, it became so hot I couldn't keep it on my lap (I was wearing shorts and it left red marks on my thighs). I even bought a stand which raised it from my legs and let air flow under it but it made no difference; this laptop gets hot, and when it's on charge it's like touching a hot radiator. As a test I ran exactly the same usage with my 4 year-old Lenovo S540 which never made a sound, and didn't get hot. I reset the fan to whisper mode but this throttles back the CPU and my photo editing software ran slower than the Lenovo.Lots of online research showed this issue, whilst uncommon, is not unknown and possible fixes involved adjustments to the BIOS and other operational functions. But I shouldn't need to do this; it should work properly straight out of the box. The Asus troubleshooting guides were of little help as they suggested the fan noise/overheating was due to a buildup of dust in the air vents. As it was brand new, in a sealed box, I could only conclude it had been built in a tent in the Sahara desert.I really wanted to love this laptop but by this time I'd had enough trying to resolve its issues. In truth, I suspect I had a faulty copy. Or maybe this is how laptops with OLED screens work, or even the i5 processor can't cope with what I want. Regardless, I returned mine as there's no point in having a laptop that either runs hot or runs slow.Which is such a shame as everything else about this laptop is simply fantastic.

Almost perfect, but for the numberpad
I love this laptop. I adore it. The screen is magnificent, the versatility is fantastic. It's light, portable, and powerful. It won't run the latest AAA games but that's not what I bought it for, and it runs most games just fine. The battery life is also superb. So why only four stars? It's the dual touchpad/numberpad. The concept is brilliant but I'm sorry to say it's just not reliable as a dedicated numberpad. If I were still a heavy Excel user I'd have returned this device by now. Happily I'm not any more, so I am happily enjoying it, but the few times I've tried to use the numberpad in the same panner as a standard numberpad, it's let me down. A real shame. But it *is* still a brilliant laptop, which I highly recommend.

Needs that Crisp Drawing Experience
I bought this laptop for digital drawing and 2D animation, so that I don't have to be glued to my desk all of the time. The battery life is amazing. Lasts about 12 hours when using Clip Paint Studio and Opentoonz. The screen is good and bad. The OLED makes everything look much more crisp than my previous screens. It's great with lighter colours with higher and lower saturations, but glitches out with darker colours for some reason. Dark colours have a static look to them (I tried to take a photo of this but it's really hard to see). I also get graphical glitches on darker colours too, but only sometimes??The pen has been having issues too, but I don't know how much of it is to do with Windows, or maybe it's the pen and not the laptop? I have to keep reseting the touch screen and pen drivers because the pen sometimes doesn't work when I first turn on the laptop. The screen also doesn't pick up lighter touches of the pen, and when drawing lines slowly the line wobbles. So, I think the last two are just not great pressure sensitivity, but I think it is common with laptops like this. THERE ALSO IS NO WAY TO CHANGE THE PEN BUTTON SHORTCUTS????? You can sometimes edit the buttons in the programs themselves, but the pen needs its own shortcut button settings! The laptop seems to be quite strong, which is good for clumsy people who keep dropping and accidently punching their laptops. The laptop doesn't get too hot.Overall, this laptop is a lifesaver, it functions for what I need it for, but has areas that I feel like should be improved. I also got this on a discount so it was worth the discounted price.

Great laptop but..
This laptop ticks every single box, bar one, the power button has almost no feed back. You don’t know if you’re pressing it or not. It’s just mushy. May just be my model, but half the time I have to look to the side to see if I’m pressing it.
