Charming book about the lifecycle of butterflies for young children
This good sized pop-up peekaboo board book about the lifecycle of butterflies is completely charming, as well as educational and informative to boot! Each of the five double pages has one lift up flap that reveals a pop up element that is beautifully realised and detailed. As you would expect for a book for a young child, there is not a lot of text. The first double page, which is gorgeously illustrated (as are the other five double pages), shows the butterflies laying eggs and the other pages tell the other stages in the life of a butterfly, ending with a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis and commenting that this butterfly will soon start the process all over again. This book is designed to be read out loud and for the adult doing the reading to reveal the surprise to the child on each double page. Priced at £7.99 (on the back of the book), this seems very reasonable for such a lovely and substantial book and so I am happy to recommend at this price point. This would make a super gift too.

My Granddaughter loves butterflies, she's 3 years old and it was so lovely reading the cycle to her and showing her each picture, she was really impressed by the pop up picture. We actually saw this book in a Garden Centre so when I returned home and saw it on Vine we were made up, she really enjoys this book and took it to show and tell day at her Pre-school, I really recommend this book to little ones who are curious about bugs. Much appreciated and enjoyable book with pop out pictures that keep the children engaged, the quality of the pictures were amazing and it was a strong book. Excellent for the price.
