How do you remove the slide part to clean it?

You can’t remove the slider without breaking it. I just run hot soapy water on the lid while sliding back and forth and it cleans it.

I would say NO, the lids I ordered we too small & I sent them back.

Don't worry, they'll break way before having to worry about that, in theory the slider should pop off, in practice all 3 of mine broke and fell out all by themselves rendering these lids useless for spill resistance, gl!
