Better than expected. Used it to bring a functionally dead dehumidifier back to life.
I have an Amazon Basics 50pt humidifier that after 3 years became non functional... it ran, but no moisture would be collected. So I purchased this retrofit valve to tap into the refrigerant line.At first puncture, I noticed the dehumidifier was completely empty. I mounted this on one of the joint points (since the metal is a bit thicker there), then refilled it with automotive R134a, and bam! I was back in business. This plus a can of R134a helped revive that $300 humidifier and save it from the landfill.I was a bit concerned about the temporary valve being too "temporary" and leaking, but a retest of the system after a few weeks showed almost no detectable leakage so I think I'm good there!I gave it 4 (out of 5 stars) due to the valve not being very secure on the install point. It wobbles quiet a bit. Because of this, I didn't retract the puncture pin leaving it partially in the hole it created just to keep the valve aligned.... not the best approach, but it looks like it worked.
