PERFECT STAND ALONE GRINDER FOR ME
First, let me thank everybody who posted reviews for several coffee grinders. I used those to make my purchase, so thank you so much. That being said, I'll try to not do a long / boring review because there are better informed people than me who have already done that. I'll just give the pros and cons, most of them being pros. [Go to the bottom to avoid my long-winded comments].THE ONLY CONThis product has eco packaging. That means just the bare basics of a strong brown cardboard box, no colorful packaging with photos, no inserts like use and care instructions, and not even any warranty information included in the box. So I was forced to go to the internet to find out how much coffee to use. But that wasn't too bad and I can tell you that the MAX line on the coffee grinding cup (there is at least that) brews about 10 cups of coffee, and I used 10 TBL of beans to just go past that max line.DESIGN / APPEARANCEIf having a beautiful appliance in your kitchen matters, this is a beautiful coffee grinder. It's compact and sleek and matches all of my stainless appliances. I love that.FEATURESI wanted a stand alone grinder because I wanted to buy some flavored beans with strong exotic flavors. The only grinder I have is the burr grinder built into my Cuisinart coffee maker. I love the Cuisinart, but I didn't want to mix these exotic flavors with my other beans and didn't want my coffee maker to have that strong aroma or taste between uses. I used to have a little stand alone burr grinder, but I tossed it when I got the Cuisinart as a gift. Don't do that - it does help to have an extra grinder, who knew? And yes, I read that burr grinders might be better, but I wasn’t going to spend the extra money to get that, since this was a specialty purchase for me.TWO SEPARATE STAINLESS CUPS - VERY USEFUL (& GUILT FREE)I love that it has two separate stainless cups. One for coffee (the one with the crossed blades) and one for herbs and other small nuts or seeds. I already felt guilty and frivolous for buying another coffee grinder so this made me feel better that I could use it for other things besides coffee. Big plus for me.EASY TO ATTACH / REMOVE & KEEP CLEANI love that the two cups are easy to put on and remove and the best thing about that is that you can keep these little cups clean. I will only wash them by hand, don't know if the DW is an option or not (because of the eco packaging) but they're easy to clean and keeping them clean will be a big plus between flavors of coffee.EASY TO USE / NO STRONG PRESSURE REQUIREDThere were some grinders that reviewers said were difficult to press down, if you had arthritis or other issues with applying pressure it might be a problem. That is NOT a problem with this one. Though I don't have those issues (yet) I was expecting a little difficulty applying pressure and there was none. I filled the cup just past the max line and lightly pressed on the lid and they were instantly ground. I did 2-3 extra presses to make sure that they were ground evenly and fine enough, and when I poured the little cup into the filter, they were perfect. Also a plus to be able to remove the little cup to turn over into the filter, no mess all over the counter (even my Cuisinart sometimes leaves a little coffee mess).SUMMARY - GET TO THE POINT ALREADYSo all that being said (probably way longer than needed to be) - I love this little grinder. I probably won't use it every day, I'm a weekend coffee drinker at best and this was for exotic flavors, but I'm sure it will be everything and more than I was looking for - highly recommend.

$30 down the drain
Love the stylish design for a daily coffee grinder. It's nice to leave out on the shelf. Easy to use. However, the first thing I noticed was that no matter how long you grind, you will have some beans coursely ground and some very fine. This makes the coffee flavor inconsistent as well as making it weaker, so I have to go through more beans in less time. This was just a small issue, of course, until this morning (3 months after buying it) I was grinding my coffee like normal and the base started smoking. I immediately stopped but it was too late. The motor is out and my house now smells of an electric fire. We are past the return policy so $30 down the drain.

If it grinds up these pills, then coffee beans are goners!
Surprisingly good grinder for breaking down big, hard pills for horses - 22 at a time. I was skeptical; I usually use a Krups coffee bean grinder until it wears out. Decided to try the Brewberry grinder. It has two different metal grinding cups with blades (see the two round photo on left). It was plenty of power. Like the metal cup - it has a good capacity. Can't say how well it works on roasted coffee beans, but would assume it can whip through less dense and much smaller items like coffee if it can pulverize the heavy dense horse pills.P.S., I grind 22 big Metformin pills with a couple tablespoons of flax seeds to keep the dust down.

Works great as a spice mill. It's taking over....
Sweet! This is a powerful little grinder. It's advertised as a coffee grinder but I plan to put it to use as a spice mill instead. It has two cups which can be removed and cleaned in the dishwasher. This is the feature that persuaded me to buy this unit instead of just buying another jar for the blender. Two dishwasher safe cups plus the grinder for $7? Sure beats.paying $89 for another blender jar.One cup has a four blade unit at the bottom and the other cup has a two blade unit at the bottom. I think both of these blender-style cups is terrific for use as a spice mill for those rare instances where I actually care about separation of flavors . I've tried grinding peppercorns in both the two blade and four blade cups and frankly I don't notice much difference. Once you grind long enough the peppercorns came out a fairly uniform texture. Noise: it's a blender. What do you expect? Time will tell if this unit will last but given the price (I paid about seven dollars ) I will be happy if this unit performs for even as little as a year . Honestly I think I was coming down with carpal tunnel from grinding so many peppercorns manually. I'm not usually one to give a hoot for the appearance of an appliance , but this little grinder is quite elegant. I'm happy to keep it proudly displayed on my countertop.Update: first, it was just a peppermill...then it started grinding all the spices...lately, I've been eying the fresh garlic cloves...when will this stop? It's big brother, the blendtec blender sits a lot quieter these days....

I love this little machine
I love this little machine. It works really well, its super tough, and it it is ridiculously convenient. Had an issue with my first one, and Better Basics had a replacement unit here, in my hands, in two days! Couldn't be happier with their fast response and great customer service. I recommend this product to everybody looking for a good grinder thats backed up by good people!

been grinding my own for over 40 years and this is by far the best grinder ever
I am a serious coffee person, been grinding my own for over 40 years and this is by far the best grinder ever. Beats all the burr grinders with the CHEAP plastic bins that always break and the motors that burn out. This unit has 2 different sets of blades/grinding cups to use, so easy to clean, so having NO MORE grinding mess is fantstic!

Don't over do it
Grinder works great, but I was grinding a large amount and held it too long and the blade mounting stripped out on the 4 blade bowl. Also, the blades get hot pretty fast, so this is only good for short, under 30 seconds, grinding stuff.

The BEST coffee grinder I've ever used!
The media could not be loaded. This has to be the BEST coffee grinder I've ever used. We are a French press coffee household, and we often buy whole bean coffee and the grind at home. The machine looks and feels very premium. It's one of those items that you'd want to keep on display in the kitchen, with it's brushed stainless steel look and tinted transparent plastic cover. LOVE It!The functionality definitely matches the looks. You get two stainless steel cups with different blades in each. One for grinding coffee and the other for spices or other small things you may want to chop (I tried it with onions and parsley). Both cups/blades do what they are supposed to do wonderfully! Swapping the cups is a simple twist and pull motion, and cleaning them is just as easy. Just pop the cup out, and wash it like any other item you want to wash. The top of the lid is transparent so you can see what's happening inside, and all you need to do to start grinding is gently press down the lid. The lid is pretty sensitive that I was able to do it with one finger and minimal effort. Just great! One of my favourite parts, which I think is very smart, is the fact that you have the measurement indicators INSIDE of the cup as well as on the outside. So when you're filling the cup with your coffee beans, you can easily see when you hit the MAX without having to guess. Industrial design at its finest :)The bottom of the machine also has space for your to wrap the cord around, but I'm not sure if it's really meant for that since the cable didn't fit fully. I do love the little opening at the back though, where the cable can be fed through so the machine can sit flat on the surface you're using it on. Another smart move. All in all. this is just a complete product, looks, functionality and quality. I love this, and would definitely buy more from this company!

A good grinder.
A good quality grinder. Has enough power to grind my coffee beans without any strain. I like the silicone seal around the bowl and plastic top. However the plastic top builds up and strong static charge and fine specks of coffee will fly all over the coffee grinder when you lift the top. It's a bit of a pain to clean up, but I find the 4 blade system does a much better job of grinding than the old Braun grinder it replaced. In my opinion this grinder is very good value for the price.

Buy this coffee and spice grinder!
This coffee grinder is fantastic - it looks very elegant, and very well made. Nice touches include a space on the bottom of the unit for the cord, so that it sits flat when in use, measurement markers on the inside of the grinder cups, and the way that the cups lock into the base. They are very secure, and bonus, no mess on the base to clean up - just the cup and cover. I have now used the Brewberry for coffee beans, flax seeds, turning oatmeal into oat flour, and almonds into almond flour. I am very impressed - it's done a much better job than either my Black & Decker or my Betty Crocker coffee grinders. My order arrived on time, and I received an email from CrestView when my order was shipped, saying that if I ever needed anything to call, or simply reply to the email. I did encounter a problem, so replied to their email telling them that. The response was the very next day, asking if I would like a full refund or a replacement. No questions asked, no muss, no fuss. I opted for a replacement (and very glad that I did) and I received it exactly when they said that I would. There were no shipping fees, no request for a return of the original coffee grinder...the service was excellent, and I couldn't be more impressed. Service, quality and price - CrestView delivers on all three. You can't ask for more.

This little grinder is perfect for me
This little grinder is perfect for me. The price is reasonnable and so my coffee does'nt get heated, I push the top 7 sec. wait 3 sec. this for 3 times and it's perfect. Also to minimize the sound I put my full hand on the top while pressing on it and there is a good difference. I recommand this coffee grinder to every one who does'nt want to pay a big price.

During the time that I used it it was extremely good at its job
Perhaps I just got very unlucky, but my product broke down within 2 weeks of purchasing it. The motor was loud to begin with but it slowly started getting louder with each use until eventually it made a loud metallic screeching sound when I used it. At that point I decided that I needed to send it back to Amazon for a refund. During the time that I used it it was extremely good at its job, so I plan on getting a new one and hoping I have better luck. If the next one breaks down as well I'll be downgrading this review to a one.
