I’ve been using this dry bath incubator in our small clinical lab, and I have to say, it’s been a dependable workhorse. It heats up quickly, maintains temperature well, and has stayed accurate over repeated use. The digital display is clear, and programming different time/temp combinations is intuitive after just a short learning curve. I especially like how compact it is—it doesn’t take up much bench space, and the block fits our 1.5ml tubes snugly without overheating or fluctuating. For general molecular biology tasks or quick heating needs in a PRP or classroom setting, it does exactly what it promises. Compared to more expensive block heaters I’ve worked with, this one holds its own surprisingly well. The 20–100°C range covers most basic applications, and the programmable functions make routine heating steps much simpler. I’ve also used it as part of a regenerative filler prep workflow and it’s kept up beautifully. While I can’t speak to long-term durability just yet, everything about the unit—from the heating consistency to the sturdy casing—feels solid. If you need a no-nonsense, affordable incubator that gets the job done and keeps your workflow moving, this is definitely worth considering.

Too complicated to figure out

For less than $275 bucks, you can't go wrong here. Head to a lab supply place and you'll pay 3-4x what this costs EASILY. So, the value is fantastic. This particular unit doesn't have the cooling function, the bottom end of its temperature range is "room temp", so if you need something that goes below room temp, you'll have to look at some of their other models, such as the DB100CG. This is the DB100, and heating is all it does. The quality is exceptional for the cost, and it's extremely simple and easy to set up and use. It even has the ability to program time / temp cycles for whatever you're doing to speed things along. If you're looking to equip your lab but aren't looking to break the bank in the process, it's hard to go wrong with this dry bath from JOANLAB. Definitely recommended, 5 stars based on price and performance.
