Sturdy, basic dehumidifier from an established firm
I bought the DEOS 12 dehumdifier in autumn '22, just missing a fantastic offer price but thankfully also just beating the price increases in this product sector and the lack of stock. It's the only dehumidifier I have used, so not a comparative review. The choice of units in this category is bewildering with many unfamiliar brands. Ariston was, for me at least, a familiar European brand and a company with some history in the HVAC sector.I settled on this unit because of its basic operation.4 settings (target humidity levels 40, 50, 60% and constant operation).2 indicator LEDs (tank full and defrost condenser active). The unit resumes operation when mains power restored. This means it can be used with a timer/smart plug. (Many units apparently do not do this, typically the fancier 'smart' ones.)Common with many other units, you can continuously drain with a hose. The manual is well written and fairly comprehensive.Negatives:I consider the unit a bit noisy (fan noise rather than compressor). But not sure how this compares to similar (12L) units. The recess, in the back of the case, to hold the plug doesn't accomodate the UK plug fitted to the unit. The power cable is only 1.6m long.I ran the unit in a small, cold, damp room with door closed, and setup a hygrometer to log humidity (there's no built-in humidity readout). It brought the humidity down from 66% to 50% within a few hours. The initial rate was impressive. Getting the humidity down from 58 to 50 was significantly slower. I believe this is to be expected. Dehumidification works best in moderately warm high humidity environment. As the temp and humidity drop, the rate of water extraction slows.Power consumption, according to a smart plug, is about 160W.I'm satisfied with the DEOS 12 and hope this review helps others.

Smart looking and effective.
We've got a Delonghi 12l which is around 10 years old..it works well...or so we thought! The Ariston arrived and we set it to work..it needed emptying far more often than the Delonghi did...not overly quiet..but not too loud. Nice looking and compact..and very very good at it's job!

Well made but too noisy for bedroom
The dehumidifier seems to be well made. It lowers the humidity significantly and my apartment smells so much better now than I first moved in. When turned on, the laundry dries so much faster. The only complain is that it is too noisy at night when put in the bedroom. It would have been perfect if it had a lower fan speed or sleep mode.

I’m shocked at the amount of water it collects
This dehumidifier is brilliant. I have a little one of a different brand and I thought it worked well collecting 500ml in a few days. This one collects a few litres filling up the tank every 6 hrs or so. Im shocked! I didn’t know there was so much moisture in my house. I move it from room to room every half a day to keep each one fresher. Works a treat. Only thing I would say is I wish the tank was bigger so I didn’t have to empty as much. But that’s just shows how well it works I suppose. If you need it in just one room and you can attach a tube to drain into a sink or something constantly then it would be perfect.

works phenomenally well in our loft - emptying twice a day!
I've been running this in our 2015-built-home attic space that we have boarded and use for storage - and after a few weeks of use over the height of winter I can say that my only real complaint is that the tank it's large enough for the real chooching that the dehumidifier can do - we're having to empty it twice a day! The only days it wasn't particularly effective was when it was -4c outside and snowing, but even when the outside was above 1c it seemed to be able to work fine. It does have the option to hard-wire a drain pipe so I might end up having to do this so that I don't have to keep checking and emptying so often. I like the fact that I can set the relative humidity level that I want it to cut-off at - and I'm REALLY impressed that it includes a little illustration explaining the internal wiring - we don't see enough of these, and I'm very pro-repairability so this was a big plus to me!

Fantastic little unit!
So after months of research and changing my mind countless times I finally took the plunge and purchased this little Ariston. I wanted something compact that could easily be moved as the primary reason for purchase was for drying washing inside now the weather is getting wetter and colder. Although this is not advertised as having a dedicated laundry mode it actually does due to its continuous mode option. After putting out some wet washing on the airer I wheeled the unit closer to the airer and turned it on, closed the door and forgot about it until I went to bed. I decided to turn it off and empty the water, to my surprise there was nearly a litre of water in it, I could not believe how effective it had been! It is solidly made, easy to move as has castors and a carry handle, and it is not very loud, you can’t hear it running if you are out of the room. The water tank comes out easily enough when emptying and goes back in just as easily. If you are looking for a simple, solid, compact dehumidifier that is easy to move then this ticks all the boxes.

Great value for money
This is the second dehumidifier we bought for our rather damp house. We also have a Inventor Fresh 12L/Day Dehumidifier which is much more expensive now than this one. However, the performance is very comparable. We keep this in the kitchen where it helps dry our clothes and keeps condensation off the windows. It's also great when cooking. The only downside to this one is that you can't see what the current humidity within the room is, unlike the Inventor Fresh one. However, that's not really that important. With this one, you set the humidity you would like in the room and it will turn off when it reaches that point, or when the tank is filled up, whichever comes first. In terms of noise, I think it's reasonably noisy, but after a short time, you do really get used to it and stop hearing it, since it's white noise. Our house is a lot more comfortable and warm since getting this.

Noisy
Does a really good job of extracting the dampness from the house. I like the feature that you can set level of humidity wanted. Only draw back is it is quite noisy
