A: Overall it’s 9 3/4” x 7 1/8”; if the center divider is used then there are two 4 3/4” x 7 1/8” compartments with a 1/4” divider gap. Hope this helps.

**Q: Is the key required each time you open it? That is, can I toss the key and still use it? I don't need a lock.**
A: You need the key to open it if you lock it. Other than that, you don't. I don't keep mine shut since I use it every day, and I don't have the patience to unlock and lock it every time
