Anthonys Organic Coconut Sugar 5lbs, Non-GMO and Gluten Free

I can only speak to how it’s working for my own use. I have to take the word of the manufacturer that it is lower glycemic index than straight white sugar. I have used it for baking, ice cream and oatmeal. It works well for all my uses. It’s sweet enough but not overpowering, good quality and flavorful. I just used it for butter mochi, a local favorite and it gives it a sort of blonde taste, it’s delicious. I can only take the manufacturer word regarding glycemic control and using it for a sugar substitute. I’m ordering another batch,as I find it a good substitute for white sugar.

Anthony’s Organic Coconut Sugar is my preference in coffee and recipes where normally I have used cane sugar. There is more of an earthy flavor that compliments coffee in my opinion. The lower glycemic index is nice (54 vs 60 per teaspoon), but it is still sugar. There are some trace nutrients such as Vitamin D, Calcium, Iron and Potassium, in very small quantities. The 5lb resealable bag is functional and convenient, I keep a wooden scoop in the bag. I can recommend strongly Anthony’s Organic Coconut Sugar!

Love this Coconut Sugar!!! I tasted some of this at one of my adult daughter’s houses, and was surprised at how delicious it was thought it was! I had read that coconut sugar is supposed to be slightly better about raising one’s blood sugar levels than traditional white sugar. Being diabetic, I thought I’d give this a try… but, my body also tends to run a bit hypoglycemic, as well, so I must watch my blood sugar levels, all around! As far as taste, quality and price, I’d say this is a product I’d definitely purchase again! It’s a hit with me! I really enjoyed the flavor of this coconut sugar… it tastes a lot like brown sugar, and I find it very pleasing… I don’t need much, and just add a teaspoon to my steel cut oats, when I decide to have a bowl!!! It’s a “yes” for me!!

It’s very good for a brown cain sugar replacement and healthier if you just get the craving for a sweet snack without blowing your whole diet… No one should need it for everyday so this large of bag help me keep myself and grandkids happy with a little more than fruit. 4 stars because it’s so expensive but what isn’t. This is about the best I’ve found stays dry and granulated stirs into mixes and cooks and bakes with no problem.. yep really like this brand and product!! And remember not to look 😂

I feel the need to update my earlier review, as my experience with this product has changed over time. Anthony’s Organic Coconut Sugar has a beautiful aroma and a deep, warm flavor that I truly appreciate now. It works especially well in sweet baked goods. In sweet buns, particularly when combined with butter and cinnamon, it creates a rich, comforting taste and fills the kitchen with an inviting scent. At first, I used it incorrectly. I added it to apricot jam and cake batter, expecting it to behave like regular sugar. The result was unexpected - the mixtures turned much darker, became too watery, and the texture changed in a way I was not prepared for. I initially thought the product was the issue. With time, I realized it was simply a lack of understanding on my side. Fortunately, I did not discard it. Later, I tried it in sweet rolls, and everything changed. The flavor became balanced, slightly caramel-like, and very pleasant. It blended perfectly into the dough and enhanced the overall baking experience. Now, I reach for this sugar specifically for sweet baking. It transformed from something I once regretted buying into something I genuinely enjoy and rely on.

It has a good quality taste and I love the amount for the price.
