HigginsDye-Based Drawing Ink, Russet, 1 Ounce Bottle (44115)

I was looking for some red ink (not orange-y, but more with blue undertones) and love this! It's the perfect shade and waterproof! I need waterproof ink at times as I'll add watercolors to my lettering and for when I do envelopes. I use india ink a lot too, but wanted to see if I could find other brands, etc.I'm not a fan of gouache, as I can never seem to get the right consistency, plus it's easier for me to use ink with my folded nibs/"cola" pens, etc. And the price! Got a GREAT deal this time. (I was placing an order and thought I'd see what I could find here on amazon, as I usually buy from dick blick or my local craft stores.) So glad I came upon this! Will definitely order again and other colors (if the price is right.)

Beautiful color. Good flow and body. Capable of producing lines from bold to very fine. Only negative is a slight tendency to puddle. I wish my black inks behaved as well.

Ink leaked out of bottle during transit and created a mess, outside packaging not damaged. Great product, but be aware shipping may be an issue.
