Warning: Great Bed, but NOT standard size
As per the title: the both bed frames are larger than a standard twin (top bunk) and full (bottom bunk). More information and what I did as workarounds are below. That said, pros:- Sturdy. Very sturdy. It's going no where.- Easy to assemble with clear directions and parts very well labeled- Pro, but mostly opinion: attractive piece that looks more expensive than it wasCons:- Top bunk: standard twin size mattress is ~4 inches shorter than the frame, width close enough once bed was made (maybe 0.5-0.75 inch per side unmade)- Bottom bunk: standard full mattress is ~2-3 inches narrower than frame on both sides, length fine- Most of the build requires an Allen wrench which adds to time to build (and painful on the hands after awhile)Neutral:- Takes about 4 hours to assemble, which would be expected considering, but something to be aware of- Did not have a strong smell as per some reviews- Direction of bottom bunk can be flipped and is in directions how to do so- Be aware all three windows for top bunk are the same height as the top rail and large, so potentially easy to fall out of if a child isn't careful/supervised- Note this is a junior height loft, so clearance/head room for the full bed is limited- Spacing between ladder rungs is relatively largeAdditional notes:- We used an existing 14" mattress with topper so head room is extremely limited. Based on experience, would suggest an 8, 10" maximum mattress for the bottom bunk- Purchased a 6" memory foam mattress for the top, did not immediately notice any sagging between the slats which are 4" apart, but purchased a bunkie board for the top bunk for additional support (maybe not necessary, but the spacing is enough with a non-spring mattress for concern). Top bunk can easily accommodate an 8" mattress with plenty of safety railing left above it.- To resolve lengthwise gap in top bunk, purchased a trianglular bed wedge (VEKKIA Twin Size Bed Wedge Pillow) and placed it point-down in the gap at the head of the mattress which closed the gap nicely- To resolve the side gaps on the bottom bunk, determined space between corner supports of frame is 38" and filled gaps on each side with two bench cushions (one on each side). Purchased "Klear Vu The Gripper Non-Slip Tufted Omega Universal Bench Cushion, 36 inch."- Due to not having a headboard plus frame creating space between head of bed and wall for bottom bunk, purchased another bed wedge to fill in the gap- "Modifications" with cushions and wedges cost an additional $140 plus $60 for the bunkie board, which is something to consider into the price. In retrospect, I may have chosen a different bed at that higher total price point to save the aggravation of the workarounds. My child absolutely loves the bed and beyond having to solve for the length/width issues, I found the assembly a breeze and believe it to be a solid piece of furniture.

Sturdy, Made Of Wood, Easy To Assemble, Attractive
I searched the internet for weeks to find exactly what I wanted for my 2 granddaughter’s room at Grammy and Pops house. Only request was "bunk beds"! I had to find something that wasn't ordinary, and without spending a ridiculous amount of money this one was my choice! Just Beautiful, it will work for boys or girls, looks much more fun than the average bunk bed, and there is so much you can do to make it look "girly" (if it's not for the little guys!) Delivered much quicker than I expected, because of Covid 19 I expected it to be late, in fact it was early. All boxes arrived together, Very well packaged, no damage, everything that was supposed to be there was there. I had no problem putting it together, did it myself, Pop was available, but I never once called him upstairs!! Yeah for Grammy!! My existing twin and full mattresses fit fine. The only thing I was not happy with was the ladder.. and I was aware of this upon purchase, very typical bunk bed ladder, straight up and not enough steps. Our 9 year old had no problem at all, but our youngest is only 2-1/2, and although she could get up and down, I was not comfortable unless I stood right there near her. Pops built a new one with more steps, and it sits at an angle directly over the existing ladder. Lots of kids in and out of this house, and they all have a fit over this bed set! It looks like a fort, it looks like a playhouse, they all love it, and they all want to stay in this room all the time!! I Love it too, very sturdy, I had the idea I would anchor it to the wall, but that is totally unnecessary, it is very stable, Solid Wood, that's what I researched as being the strongest! (Hint-- comes with an Allen Wrench... cut it off and use it in your cordless drill instead, so much easier on your fingers than turning that little wrench).

Our Daughters LOVE this bed!!!
This bed was part of the room renovation we did in our daughters' room. And they absolutely LOVE it! We originally set up the bed with the full size bed attached, as it's sold. But our girls' room is so small that they didn't have much room to play in there with the bottom bed attached. So we took it back out and turned the bed into a mini loft of sorts hehehe. And our daughters LOVE it! They're little (5 yrs and 2 yrs old), so they both just hop into the top bed and sleep there at night lol.The bed was super easy to put up. My husband and I both worked on it together. But he fell asleep halfway through finishing up LOL. So I actually finished putting up the rest of the bed by myself. It was really not hard at all. And I'm a 5'4" woman. Just follow the steps. And KEEP THE NUMBERED STICKERS ON THE PIECES until you're done!!! That probably goes without saying, but I thought those numbers were just for the manufacturer to ensure that they included all the pieces in the packaging, so the very first thing I started to do was remove the stickers! BAHAHAHA do NOT do this! You will need every piece numbered because the directions tell you exactly what piece to put where. But yes, this bed is the coolest thing I've ever seen! And I am so happy that we purchased it! It's super sturdy, the color is true to the images advertised, and it's just so well-designed! And it was so reasonably priced! We looked all over Amazon for comparable beds, but we just found a bunch of less cool, but more expensive beds. If DONCO made adult clubhouse beds, trust me...we'd be the FIRST ones to order!!! Hahahaha! Definitely get this bed!!!!!!!!!!!

Son love’s it!
My son loves his new bed! He’s 4 and has some difficulty climbing back down but he’s learning. I wish ladder steps were wider so it was easier to climb up and down. One thing I did not think about was how to get sheets on mattresses. We have the bed in the corner of the room and it is difficult to change the sheets. It’s definitely a work out but he loves his bed so much it’s worth it. Plus this is real wood!!!! It does have the real wood smell for awhile but we loved that about it. Most furniture these days isn’t the real stuff. Wasn’t difficult to assemble but definitely a job for 2/3 people. Just pay close attention to which side of the wood has the varnish and which side is painted. It does matter when assembling though they look a lot alike.

Make sure you’re not claustrophobic
I read that a full size mattress doesn’t fit well and they were correct. I have about a 2 inch gap on both sides of the mattress. I didn’t get a super plush, pillow top mattress for the bottom so there would be head room under the bunk. Word of advice is to keep the mattress under 10’ thick or you’ll feel like you’re going to hit your head on the top bunk. For the top bunk we kept the mattress under 10’ as well so that the rails were still high enough to deter falling off. I have a 5 and 2 year old in the bunk beds. I really liked that the bottom mattress was low to the ground so I didn’t have to worry about the 2 year old falling off. However, since the mattress doesn’t fit well, I have body pillows cushioning/filling the gaps. Sometimes we still have to lay with our 2 yo for him to fall asleep and it can feel claustrophobic. Never had bunk beds before so not sure if that’s the case with any bunk bed though. I was nervous that the wood wouldn’t be smooth (I guess due to it looking rustic) but the grain is smooth. No splinters here (yet). My boys love it. Cute concept.
