Q: Can i remove the jack from the mount and stire it fir trip and drop back in once i arrive at my destination?

Yes that is the idea. take the foot or wheel off the bottom, pull the keeper pin out, pull the main pin out, pull the jack up out of it's mount.

Q: Is the handle removable? so as to be shortened for trailer clearance?

The handle "can be" removed, but I dont suggest it, the handle is what holds the jack together. If you take the handle off, the guts fall out. BUT The handle will "flip over", so it can be lifted straight up, and all the way over to the point the black handle part is upside down.

Q: how much room is needed for top crank? I have a v-nose trailer

The handle is seven inches from center of jack to end of handle! Hope that answers question
