Fantastically Clever
I don't even know where to begin with this review, this book blew me away. Sadly for me, this is the first book that I've read from L.B. Dunbar, though her books have been on my e-reader for quite some time. It was smartly and cleverly written and the tale that she was able to tell was enchanting to say the least. There are multiple references to the story King Author (see the title) through the characters and some of the situations; just a more modern version. I got invested in the characters and the story from the get-go. The opening pulled me right in and I read furiously until there were no pages left and I still wanted more. It is told in a dual POV from both main characters. However, there isn't much overlap in the different views. It is more of a cause and effect type portrayal of events from one side and then the other. The Legend of Arturo King, follows the story of Arturo and his band The Nights as they're about to set off on their world tour. Arturo is a bit disenchanted with his life at the onset. But when Arturo sets eyes upon Guinevere in the crowd, it as if his world stands still for a moment before it is righted on its axis. Things are rocky with them to say the least. Guinie is sweet and innocent and ready to find her own way in the world that has been dominated my music. However, when they both let the other in, they fall fast and hard. Their playfulness provided a lightness that was needed in the story. I really liked Arturo's transition from the start of the book. Guinie brought out a softer, calmer, more grounded side to him. I loved how he not only spoke of love, valor and honor but proved it through his actions. And he allowed her to flourish and find the footing she was so desperately searching for.I thoroughly enjoyed the cast of secondary characters (and there were a lot of them). The relationships were realistic and it was fairly easy to follow all the connections between everyone. They only enhanced the likeability and relate-ability of both Guinie and Arturo. Everyone from Kaye, Murr, Lansing, Ana, Perkins and Lou played an important role in the development of the story as well as Arturo and Guinevere's relationship. Of course, with The Nights' fame, there is going to be jealousy and the haters come out of the woodwork to try and sabotage the good thing Arturo and Guinevere have going on. My heart was pounding and I was waiting with baited breath for the other shoe to drop. And when it did, allegiances were tested. Just as things were getting back on track for the couple, disaster strikes. Holy mother of cliffhangers. I absolutely can not wait to see what happens next for the whole gang. But more importantly what will become of Arturo and Guine's relationship...

A great take on the King Arthur story
Arturo King is a rock star. He’s a legend and he’s known as the Chivalrous Lover. His band The Nights are hugely successful and he’s young and enjoying the rock star lifestyle. But the scene is getting a little old, his muse is dying and he’s in need of a pick-me-up. And during a show, he sees her. A vision in white captivates him and he just knows that he needs her. But she’s not someone he can have. She’s Leo DeGrance’s daughter, Guinevere.Guinnie loves to play cello and is dying to get into the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. But life doesn’t always go as we plan and she falls victim to the plans of others.I can honestly say that I wasn’t overly keen on either of the main characters. They both lacked a serious maturity. BUT I will withhold too much judgement because there’s another book in their story, not to mention the other stories involving the other Nights between this story and that last. I will just say that in this particular story, I don’t see how it could have ended in any other way. Well, maybe worse endings. But the one that is there is kind of the best case scenario, and definitely less heartbreaking. I love how steadfast he is, once he sets his mind. Guinnie not so much and that’s bothersome to me. But that’s a personal thing, not a dig on the book or the author. I still enjoyed the story overall, and I can’t wait to delve into the others. I’m most certainly interested in Perkin’s story. I don’t know why. But his story blurb calls to me! The one I’m least looking forward to is Tristan’s. But that’s a personal thing there, too. I have a brother named Tristan and it squicks me out to read any sort of nookie anything involving that name. So, we’ll see if I can make it through that book.Ms. Dunbar has taken the myth and legend that is the King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and has modernized it and made into something more realistic in this day and time. Because let’s face it Rock Stars are the new royalty and their lives and goings on are the stuff dreams and legends are made of. I know that she’s not 100% true to the stories and that’s perfectly ok. That’s the point of it. That’s how King Arthur became the stuff of myths and legends in the first place. The first story was already not 100% true to the story. I will say that I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series. So, would I recommend this book? I would. I think that the retelling of the legend is imaginative and interesting and quite unique.

"I love you, once", I whispered in her ear."I love you, Future," she mumbled through choked tears .Oh wow what an epic read this was,Out of the hundreds of books I've read in the past couple of years I can only think of two rock star book's that I've actually enjoyed see my problem when it comes to rock star book's is that author's more often than not turn the book into a cheese fest now I don't mind a little bit of cheese in my books but author's don't turn my rockers cheesy anyway I've had this book on my kindle for some time now but I've always been to chicken to start it until yesterday when a friend of mine was raving about it,oh man was I kicking my own arss for waiting so long to read this,I was utterly captivated from the first page L.B Dunbar has done a magnificent job of retelling the story of King Arthur and the knights of the round table and turning them into modern day rock stars.Ultimately this is a love story and one of the most beautiful written love stories I've read,Arturo and guinevere's love story is one filled with passion and betrayal as well as many twists and turns and that ending oh my I don't think my one-click finger has ever moved so fast I just had to have the next book,The Legend of Arturo King is not only one of the best books I've read this year but one of the best I've had the pleasure to read,5 stars highly recommend.

A really great series
This was a series I really got into. I read the whole series over a few days and really enjoyed it. I didn’t like waiting to find what happened to Arturo, but I am really impatient. How the series is set out is really clever and it definitely keeps you interested. Although each book basically covers a different band member, it is clever how we see all their stories forming alongside each other. Really great collection…

A different take!!
Well what can I say about this book..just oh wow! Not a big fan of long reviews with spoilers in it. I think if someone says it's good or great or brilliant, that means more than a long winded review! This is a good, great and brilliant book and so worthy of the five stars. It takes an old tale and makes it into a modern take and it really does work. I have already one clicked the next book and hope I get answers in it that I didn't get in this one. Don't be put off by the fact you are left wondering Wtf at the end of Arturos and guinnies story because if book one is anything to go by, you will go straight for book two in the series....love it and am glad it was recommended to me x

Five stars
A really good read, about a rock band. Arturo and Guinevere are attracted to one another from the start. A easy story to follow, there are some bad people in it. I couldn't put the book down, till I got to the end. What a ending, a cliffhanger. There are more books after this one, of the rest of the band.
