Since amethyst was discovered in the early 19th century in southern brazil, these purple crystals have been recognized as the best specimens worldwide. No other amethyst-producing region can match the rich color, size and crystalline quality of those mined by our partners in rio grande do sul. But brazil is also famous for another prized natural material – agate. These magnificent stones, which can be up to 2 billion years old, are today recognized as one of nature’s greatest design achievements. We curate the most beautiful examples and work with local cutters and polishers in southern brazil to enhance their natural inner beauty by plating their rough unpolished edges with gold and silver. We see these pieces as the perfect harmony of natural and man-made design for the home.
