The new formula may be depositing more color to increase wear time or your hair may have become more porous. Try reducing developing time by 5 mins.

First of all blonde is a form of yellow. The dark ash blonde is a great color if you are transitioning from a darker color. I used to be dark brown then went to light ash brown when my hair started greying really badly...now I'm using the dark ash blonde to work with the grey. Since I'm in my 70's it works for me. Is you don't use an ash color, you could get a reddish hue.
