Review: Cat Loves Wool Balls! - These came with the purchase of a Large Wool Cat Cave. My cat Calamity, loves wool balls! I've made them for her since she was little. Our daughter brought her to us while she was moving house. Just for 2-3 weeks tops, she said. That was 4 years ago and Callie decided my husband is her Human so he's her Paw-paw and she's his Puddin'. She loves to play fetch and I've found she likes balls best when they're between 3/4 of an inch to 1.5 inches and light enough to carry in her mouth. Though, she does like to bring one up onto our bed and fling it at us, expecting us to catch it and fling it back so I guess she likes to play 'catch' too. These balls are wool, they're soft to the touch and firm. They do not smell strongly of wool. They're about 2 inches in diameter and are quite bouncy. She enjoyed batting them around but didn't pick one up, I'm not sure if she can with them being that size. They feel firm but I might be able to shrink them a little. They have some heft to them so be careful when playing fetch with your cat and don't hit them with the balls, they might hurt a bit. She put them into a loose pile, I pushed them closer together for the photo. The blue balls are the purchase. The other balls are what's left of the 30 or so balls I've made for her. The rest are either under the sofa or stashed in a black hole somewhere.
Review: Soft, nicely colored balls that are fun and roll great - These balls are great. Our kitten loves them! They roll great, are soft, and are fun for her to chew on. I accidentally washed and dried (in the dryer) one of the balls and it was fine (just a little paler in color). I’ve purchased both sizes, and our kitten seems to prefer the smaller size, but she plays with both sizes and will grow into the larger size. It’s nice that each bag has several balls because they can get lost under furniture, although they do end up coming out later when she finds them.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are they soft or are they hard?**
A: They are firm, but soft feeling. They hold the shape in a furbaby mouth very well. My 8.5lb, 10 yo princess loves them!

**Q: Where can I buy the same balls but bigger? (Double size maybe)**
A: I found some wool dryer balls, about the size of baseballs and my cat really thought they were toys. Google pure wool dryer balls.

**Q: Is this too small for a 15 pound dog? I want it for my cat’s, but my dog destroys cat toys like it is his job. I worry he could choke on it.**
A: I would not recommend this toy if your dog chews cat toys. Depending upon the size of the dog’s open jaw it could get lodged in his throat.

**Q: Do these balls bounce off the floor when thrown?**
A: they do bounce, but not as much as other balls.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good size for cats.
*by C***L on September 24, 2025*

The wool balls are a good size; small enough for my cat to carry around, but large enough that I'm not afraid that it might become lodged in his mouth. They're fairly firm, not mushy. They're also light enough that he can snag them with his claws and toss them around. And they don't squeak (yippeee!). Yeti likes them; there's usually one in bed with us every morning.
