A great gimbal at any price, a steal at how affordable it is
The FeiyuTech SCORP-C is a very impressive gimbal. In doing a review like this it is typical to want to qualify nearly every statement with “as an affordable option”. To be clear, it IS very affordable…almost absurdly so…. But many of its features and benefits are impressive at any price point, so the fact it is affordable is a huge bonus, not a disclaimer. Build quality is solid. The inclusion of built in multi position locks on each axis make balancing it a simple procedure. One aided greatly by the training videos available including in their app. The addition of ‘marker’ slides, (positionable indicators on each axis) makes re balancing after storage or travel a snap. Even without them, the balancing procedure is easy, well explained, intuitive and quick. Not enough can be said about just how useful separate locks on each axis are. Gone are the days of pinched fingers while attempting balance or transport. These locks have positions both for isolating the axis while balancing as well as for safe storage. The thoughtful attention to detail like that and the position sliders are evident throughout the product. While it comes with a solid mini tripod, used in balancing and useful as an extended grip, it is not needed if you are looking to operate in the most compact mode possible. Other similarly shaped gimbals will work the same but with a huge problem…how to safely rest or put put your rig on a flat surface. Here, again, they came up with a simple but intuitive solution…two legs deploy from the rear making the gimbal itself it’s own tripod for when you don’t have the extended handle tripod attached. The controls have a great feel, and while I would’ve liked a bit more resistance on the thumb joystick, it is not loose or floppy. The large wheel is a pleasure, great feel and capable of very precise control. Here again they have truly provide a great experience to the end user. Gimbals have become increasing more complex with wanted features like ‘selfie mode’ and ‘Dutch axis roll’ for those great spin shots. FeiyuTech delivers all of these features and more. However one thing that I find frustrating with many products is the limited number of physical buttons, knobs, and controls. This requires memorizing almost absurd ‘Morse code like’ sequences of “4 quick hits: to toggle into this mode and “long squeeze then short hit” to engage this feature. The scorp-c has some of that, but significantly less than similar gimbals I’ve used. Furthermore they give far more buttons that can be used as dedicated feature triggers to greatly reduce the number of ‘code presses’ you need to memorize. Many of those buttons can also be customized in the app, truly letting you configure the gimbal for your shooting style. A final note, when the ‘secret code’ method is needed they do well by including led indicators to help quickly clarify the mode you’re in and what you toggled to. Speaking of the app, it too was quite impressive. Many times smaller manufacturers roll out great products whose app feels like an afterthought. Not the case here. The UI was straight forward. The video links useful and informative. And the level of control impressive. I particularly enjoyed being able to dial in the sensitivity on the controls to exactly what worked for me. Also fun, and surprisingly useful was the ‘gyro mode’ wherein the gimbal becomes a pan/ tilt head controllable not just by an onscreen controller (though that works as well) but by the position of your cell phone, allowing for very controllable pans and tilts. Of final note, I compliment FeiyuTech on including all needed cables. Too often nowadays, even on expensive products, you have additional cost of purchasing the specific adapter cable to control your camera. Here the company errs on your side providing all the different cables for each of the manufacturers they support. The versatility and savings afforded here is significant, as I can go from flying a Panasonic one day to a Sony the next without concern of if I purchased the correct adapter Overall I was very impressed with the product. It would be a solid purchase in general, but at its extremely affordable price point it’s an absolute steal! Definitely recommend it.

Solid and reliable gimbal for the price great for content creators and solo shooters
I’ve been using the FeiyuTech SCORP-C with my Sony A7 and A6400, and it’s proven to be a reliable tool for my video work. Whether I’m shooting handheld B-roll, talking head content, or event footage, the stabilization is smooth and consistent, especially for a gimbal in this price range. The 3-axis stabilization works well even when walking or moving quickly between shots. It does take a bit of time to get used to balancing your camera properly, but once it’s dialed in, it holds steady and performs like it should. It handles cameras up to 2.5 kg (around 5.5 lbs), and I’ve had no issues with lenses of moderate weight. Build quality is solid — it doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy, and the grip is comfortable for longer shooting sessions. The design makes it easier to get low-angle shots without needing an additional handle or arm extension. It’s light enough to travel with, but still feels professional in use. The controls are intuitive and responsive. Button layout makes sense, and I can easily switch between modes or re-center the gimbal without looking down or fumbling. The battery lasts through several hours of shooting, depending on your setup, and charges via USB-C, which is super convenient. It also supports Bluetooth connection and app integration, though I mostly use it manually. Setup was straightforward, and it plays nicely with many popular mirrorless and DSLR models from Sony, Canon, Nikon, and others. What really stands out is how usable and capable it is for creators who don’t want to drop $500+ on a stabilizer. If you’re producing YouTube content, weddings, social media clips, or even short films — and you need a tool that won’t fight you or break your budget — this gimbal delivers where it matters.

Great product at a great value
What a clutch purchase! I’m weeks into shooting a music video that requires several locations in 2 states. My previous gimbal AFI VS3Sd (purchased about 3 yrs ago on Amazon) just so happens to not hold a charge even with purchasing new batteries. I needed to grab one for last nights shoot. Well, I swung into action, hopped on Amazon and was able to purchase with a NEXT DAY DELIVERY. It came in well packaged and the presentation was great and the gimbal/camera stabilizer looked awesome. The frame is aluminum and hard a hard durable plastic polymer and it felt as great as it looked. The instructions were easy to follow and in no time I was balanced and ready to give it a go. The gimbal is smooooooooooth and the phone app for controlling functions is highly responsive and easy to use. I recommend this to any filmmakers or content creators out there looking for a quality gimbal.

BEFORE YOU BUY
So far this is my second day using the Gimbal and it’s definitely a neat piece of equipment but I’m completely new to gimbals and stabilizers so I didn’t exactly know what I was getting myself into, like I did no research or anything on this product. I seen it in cool photography/videography reels on Instagram and the final result of their scene and was like “Ayo I need that”, and because I feel like I could use it for my future film career growing into it, but that’s besides the point, I mainly had this title as “BEFORE YOU BUY” because if you do not know anything about gimbals like me, you’re gonna have a hard time setting this up. when I first unboxed it I read the instructions and they were simple but the images looked confusing so I was just having a hard time piecing everything together and when I didn’t understand the instructions I went to YouTube for answers and not a single YouTube video didn’t have a tutorial on how to set this thing up and I’m like “maaaannn”, so after 2 hours later I finally been able to set it up to a comfortable use of recording some sort of video for the review. I’m also having issue getting feedback from the selection of buttons on the grip because I’ll press them but the gimbal does nothing to react so hopefully soon I’ll give an update after some time has passed. Pros: -stabilizing is smooooooooth -little to NONE shaking movements -Firm and top quality equipment Cons: -Decent Weight -doesn’t instantly stabilize into the correct position I’m going for (but that’ll take some time to learn I’m just being mean) -has to Charge for 5+ hours to have a solid runtime to use -tight spaces around the camera gives me anxiety that my camera is going to hit one of these pieces If you want my opinion, go for the FeiyuTech G6 Max Stabilizer, yes it’s a single grip but after using this one, I kind of wished I bought the G6 instead considering it’s cheaper and would’ve been great for beginners, not to mention you can attached your camera or Phone to it and it looks easier to pack away vs this one I’m constantly keeping in its box.

Better quality than I was expecting!
Solid piece of gear. Way more metal than I was expecting. Feels very quality in the hands. Balancing my camera is a breeze. The scorpion tail grip is fantastic for maneuvering and also helps for stabilizing your rig with two hands in a wider grip instead of trying to hold a column with both hands on older gimbals. The A > B position memory is great for pans. You will still need a camera or lens with OIS built in for the most buttery-est motion, but Scorp still does a lot of motion smoothing if you're shooting without. Being able to mount this sucker on a panning tripod for video capture is pretty great. The companion smart phone app is actually really good. Connection to the Scorp is solid. You are able to fine tune the automation of the gimbal and also control it remotely while it sits on a tripod. My only real issue is with the thumb stick control. It feels a bit jerky in operation, so I only use it for setting up the initial camera position and would never try to use it to pan during filming. Solid piece of gear for the money. Absolutely satisfied

Quality gimbal - definitely weight limited
The Scorp-C has a lot of promise - if you’re shooting with the right camera. I purchased this gimbal as it advised that my Canon 80D would be compatible with it. However, I think that while compatibility is possible, the canon 80D is absolutely at the extreme end of the envelope. The other issue with using this camera for this gimbal is the overall weight being manageable. I noticed on more than a couple of occasions after working through the balancing process, that my forearm would shake due to the weight, introducing some serious oscillations into the stabilization system. I am confident that this gimbal is a great tool for smaller cameras, but I’m writing this review for anyone shooting a more substantive DSLR to use heavy concern for whether this gimbal is the right fit. It’s also worth mentioning that, even trying multiple cables and methods, I could not succeed in getting the gimbal to control the camera, meaning I would have to start and stop video manually. Ultimately I chose to return the gimbal. The return process was fast and painless. If you’re shooting a lighter camera or some other solution that isn’t a “beefy” DSLR, this is a pretty great device. 3 stars because of the camera control issues as well as the listed compatibility while actual implementation doesn’t seem possible.

Solid & Compact Gimbal, Unique Form Factor
I've been looking for awhile for a gimbal for my Sony FX3, but all seemed way more than I wanted to spend. I then was surprised to find this scorp-c, which I hadn't really heard of but saw that it's weight capabilities would easily fit the fx3 with even my biggest lens, and it has with ease. Yet, the design of it is what I was most happy about as I use this mostly in briefcase mode, so it's quite comfortable to carry. The ergonomics, the form factor of its scorpion like body, is really comfortable in the hand. If you have really big hands you may want to get the larger scorp, but it fits well for me. The quality of the material is nice too. I wasn't expecting as much for the price but was surprised at how solid it all feels. The knobs and all the buttons click well, and front wheel is my favorite features as it smooth to turn and can be customized. In fact, there's also a lot of features that some of the higher end brands don't have, and I haven't even used all of them yet. It's also easy to set up and balance, so switching cameras isn't a big hassle. Some of the sliding mechanism feels stiff and doesn't glide as smoothly as I'd like, but for me, all gimbals have their learning curve when setting up. It's also really easy to lock and store, which is great since I do plan to travel with it soon. Overall, solid product that I didn't think I'd like as much as I do!

I got what I paid for
I have owned this now for three months and have used it many times.... well, TRIED to use it many times. I read and read and watched and watched many things about three SCORP-C and ignored the negatives people were saying because I often get lucky. The unit I got appeared to be brand new and gorgeous; even the box is gorgeous. This SCORP-C SHAKES uncontrollably as it pleases for no reason. Fully and perfectly balanced, sometimes, it just goes haywire on its own. The worst thing about the SCOPE-C that I didn't know, is the actual materials. The arms are supposed to be able to be adjusted so you can balance it. Well, in theory. Imagine jagged metal trying to glyde against jagged metal.... Can you slide jagged metal against jagged metal? Do you think that two surfaces comprised of jagged metal would glide against another surface of jagged metal? That's what the materials and design of the SCORP-C feels like when you are adjusting the arms for balancing. I regret buying this- fully. Terrible waste of money! I keep learning in life that you get what you pay for. I was trying to save money because the scorp-c was on sale last year ... I think I got for under $250 here on Amazon, and there are many videos of functioning SCORP-C ... I absolutely want to warn the prospective buyer. I know the price is attractive and again, there are many videos out there of the SCORP-C and those will appear as functioning gimbals. Yes in theory, the engineering design should work, but it's the actual materials and how the metal and peices and clearance and gaps and "play" between two metal peices trying to rub against each other.... This was a mistake. I really think people shouls look elsewhere. I played with a DJI Ronin a few days ago and it breaks my heart to own this thing. If I could go back I would HAPPILY spend the extra $100 to get a gimbal that works. I've done my part and I have offered this warning. I KNOW this looks like a good deal. I know that, but stay clear!

Impressive gimbal for travelling
I bought this gimbal as I needed a second one for my travel bag. I wanted to run this along with my RSC 2. This gimbal is so strong that will easily run my setup: Sony A7S III + 24-105 f.4 lens + a camera cage. I do find it easier to use when I run it with a 35mm lens on. The handle is amazing for the low shots, as well as all the main controls are on the handle. It also has a few extra customisable buttons on the side. Pros: - motor locks - many points of adjustment - memory slider (for a perfect setup every time) - 2500mah battery (10-13 hours of use) - fast charging - phone app Cons: - balance check in the app - auto tune needs more manual adjustment (I am sure this can be fixed in a firmware update) To be honest this gimbal is going to be in my daily camera bag because is light and small.

intuitive and unique design
very well designed gimbal, lots of features, but I used only few with my last project. The build quality is mostly plastic but sturdy, and the gimbal has an integrated feet which is great to put down the gimbal without having to put on the tripod, and it does hide away when you do not need it. The design of the gimbal makes it a little larger and not very portable but it gives you a full package on the go without the need of extra accessories.
