Gourmet Coffee Costa Rica Whole Bean by Break the Cup: Coffee Beans Naturally Enriched To Produce the Aroma Coffee Lovers Crave From this Pure Arabic Coffee (12 oz whole bean coffee)

Not bad, but unremarkable. I didn't feel any special aroma or rich taste. A little dull. I tasted it twice after finely grinding in a manual porcelain burr grinder and brewed either 4 table spoons per 300mL or 8 tablesppons per 700mL coffee. I can't really recommend it, although, tastes differ, of course. I was comparing this to something like Nicaragua Segovia-Dark Roast Tiny Footprint whole beans or Jungle Costa Rica Single Origin Coffee Beans (Howler Monkey Dark Roast) by Jungle Coffee, both of which I would give 5 stars... I tried Nicaragua Segovia-Dark Roast shortly after tasting this Break the Cup coffee, and the Segovia Dark Roast was full bodied aroma and taste. I can't say same about this Costa Rica Segovia Dark Roast Whole Bean Gourmet Coffee by Break the Cup LLC. Be careful about a limited number of reviews - only 6 reviews, each was 5 stars before I posted mine.Updated 11/5/17: After brewing a fairly concentrated coffee (6 tbs/600 mL), it is pretty good. More flavorful, but not as my 5 star coffee varieties. I am upgrading to 4 stars, but I am not sure if I buy again.Updated 2/17/18: Bought it again and noticed that there is no Sell By Date anywhere on the package. I didn't remember another coffee without a date... Checked again and again - nothing! As a last resort I peeled off the barcode and... it was there (see photo)! Hard to see, and the expiration date (or sell by date) was hidden same way on prior packages I purchased. I wondered why it was obscured from customers... Then I noticed something troubling. The package I purchased in December 2017 was good through May 2018, but the one I got in February 2018 was only good through April 2018. It takes me at least 6 weeks to consume a package, but I like to alternate 2-3 varieties. This one won't last long! It is either the Seller is not even trying to sell the freshest coffee first or they sold a big batch before Christmas, and are now selling anything (let be older) they can get hold of, or this is mismanaged so they are even not paying attention to dates. It is not uncommon to see coffee at stores that is good for only 2-3 months, but I usually see that coffee purchased online is good for about 6 months (9 months if lucky). But 2 months? I wont' buy this coffee again. Downgrading to 3 stars!Update on flavor and aroma: The manufacturer recommends 1 tbs per 6 oz produced fairly bland taste and aroma, but I found a minimum 2 tbs per 6 oz was adequate, not great though. Consistent with 3 stars!

It’s not the greatest coffee. It has a strange taste to it. I wanted to try it again but I’m nervous I’m going to feel the same way. I heard great things but I’m just not sure if even trying the different kind they have is worth it. The price is great. The company’s information is great on their website and the products seem worth it. I tired this kind first but I’m just not sure if I want to move forward with trying any other product

I'm a bit of a coffee addict. This one has a very unique taste. Robust, but very smooth. Highly recommend for coffee aficionados.

As a coffee consumer for over 25 years, I'm hard to impress. This deserves its own class & I hope to see more variations from this company.

Absolutely the Best Coffee in the world. I consider myself a coffee connoisseur and this is better then Kopi Luwak, Jamaican Blue Mountain and all the other expensive coffees out there. No acidity and very smooth, yet a bold taste. It must be the Hot Springs water process they use that makes this coffee so special. Might sound a bit expensive but costing it out by the cup it is still much cheaper then the crap you purchase at the popular coffee houses. Need an espresso roast soon. I hope that is next. Finally a coffee I'm in love with.

I've been drinking coffee for years, and I can honestly say that Break the Cup is by far my favorite coffee. Every morning I have cup, and its rich yet subtle taste is the perfect way to wake up.Absolutely delighted!
