I was using another brand (rhymes with "Borthern Slights") and the thick, 6 section wax dye bricks didn't really do it. They got color in the candle, but was not vibrant; everything came out as pastels. :(BUT THIS STUFF IS AMAZING. Rich, vibrant colour (yes - "colour", not just "color". This is so good I went full British). And it took less than the other brand to get them. Putting 2 per pound produced a good result, but using 3 was "BAM!", and created a solid color that I was extremely surprised and pleased with. Using 3 little "tabs" from the sheet allowed making 4 pounds of coloured wax that really made my candles show up across the room compared to the "pastel pansies" from the other brand.BUY THIS ONE. USE THIS ONE. You will appreciate it later. Heck, it's even cheaper than the "Borthern Slights" brand bricks - WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! I just wish you could get orders of single colours, but this is what I'm buying from now on.

These work quite well.The amount you want to use, and the final look depend on the type of wax you use. Soy wax is very opaque, so you need much more dye in order to approach the same final color. In general, soy candles are going to look much more muted/pastel. Paraffin wax is very translucent--almost clear--so a little bit of dye goes much further. In general, Paraffin wax results in much brighter, vibrant colors.

After experimenting with these color blocks in soy wax and ending up with "smurf blue", super pink (instead of red), peach instead of red and various shades of greens ranging from pastels to murky olives, I've decided to leave my candles all-natural. I am glad I purchased this product as it was an inexpensive way for me to ultimately realize that I'm not really interested in dying my candles. The quality of the product seems fine. Might be fun for making candles with kids.

Great dye! Yes the blocks are small (probably two by three inches), but the dye works great with small amounts. For an 8 oz candle made from soy wax, a tiny pinch (about 1/32 of one segment) of the red was enough to get a bright red candle. As a note, the purple is slightly on the red side but easily blended to get a more blue purple if that's what you want

These pack quite the punch for color. Just a little bit will do you. They might look small when you get them, but just break of one of the tiles and then break that into portions and see how fast it colors your entire batch. You'll be quite surprised! Makes it really easy to dye your candle without adding too much liquid. Would definitely recommend even for beginners!

If you you have never made color wax candles before, the color that rubs onto the plastic bag can be deceiving. Without labels, the color you make may be a surprise. Yellow is the only one that I can tell for sure is yellow. Please consider adding individual color labels for future customers.

the dye blocks are smaller then expected, theyre more like dye sheets..... in the photo they look about the size of a chocolate bar... theyre not.... theyre smaller..... when mixing colors keep in mind that it may look dark but as soon as it dries it will be very light. it takes a but of experimenting to get it just right

I used with Soy wax and it takes twice as long to melt the dye as it does to melt the wax I wish is was a bit lower on the melting point but adds a nice coloring two tabs for 16 melted ounces gave a great coloring.
