The Scorpions - Moment of Glory (Live with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra)

This project was more than just throwing in an orchestra behind the band like Metallica or Fleetwood Mac have done. It was created to equally showcase the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Scorps. And it does! The orchestral arrangements were written to be part of the songs, not just accent them, making this a whole new way to hear these songs.The conductor, Christian Kolonovits, seems to enjoy himself as much as the Scorps and really rocks the orchestra. Since this performance was at the 2000 World Fair, there were a lot of people in the audience that were not there for the rock n roll, however there is plenty of footage of these classical music fans standing up and cheering the Scorps and clearly enjoying themselves, illustrating what a great job was done with these songs- and what an incredible band the Scorpions are! Anyone who enjoys a great concert will love this dvd. Only the very narrow minded don't get what a great show of talent this is.

Saw them in a live cocert in Greece on the Rapsidy Chanel and sent for this DVD of them. They were so good and I wanted to see/hear more. Of all the DVDs shown, on Amozon, this one looked best. Surprise, surprise all the talkung is in beaufiful Germain. Oh well, I just wanted the music anyway...and it was great. The band is in perfect sinc with the lead singer and the are not bashful about really playing the multitude of gutars and string insruments....they are good. What induced me to buy this particular DVD, was the Scorpions were backed up with the Berlin Philharmonic - a "Moment Of Glory". Very happy! Four Stars.

Must have for Scorpion fans.

What a blast, you'll never hear them or see them in better form. A different set list but still the Scorpions at their best. The marriage of the Scorpions and the Berliner Philharmonic was made in heaven with with both outfits working really well together.If you're a fan as I have been since 'Lonesome Crow' then you really should buy this one. Picture and sound are both superb.

This is a wonderful DVD! A wonderful blend of Scorpions music mixed with symphony! If you are a fan of their heavier stuff, this may not be the DVD for you, but if you are a huge fan of the band, then this is a must have for your collection! Enjoy!!

This was a great purchase. To get both the DVD and CD for $16.00 was a great deal. There are 2 reasons why I didn't give it a full 5 stars:1. I wish the concert video was a little longer - it seems to fly by!2. The CD doesn't have "You and I" on it (which the video does) and that's one of my favourite songsSo they might be petty reasons for the 4-star rating, but on the whole it was a great purchase!I would recommend it to any Scorpions fan that also appreciates the majesty of orchestration.

Sometimes a backing orchestra works, and sometimes, it just doesn't. I don't really feel like it fits with the Scorpions. Audio/video quality is outstanding, though - so if you like this sort of thing, they did a good job of it.

Great concert/great sound.....it was awesome to see them play with an orchestra.....it brought a new twist to some classic Scorpions songs. This blu ray will not disappoint.
