simple, fast, effective
this ferro rod is extremely easy to hold and direct sparks right where you want them.Take time to scrape away the black coating and you have a flame-thrower.

It’s so long that you can get enough material to strike a fire with two strikes at most with a proper tinder pile.

I wouldn't recommend this for backpacking because it's very heavy. It throws lots of sparks.
