Very sturdy and takes up a lot less space. Round base is felt covered on the bottom. Extends out to where I need it and holds our camera with no problem. Review: Very wobbly - Not sure how this got good reviews. It’s advertised as being able to support a DSLR, but that’s not the case. I question if it could support anything at all. The attachment point at the bottom is so weak that even without anything on it, it still wobble. When I had a DSLR on it, it took about a minute or two before the wobble would stop. If I touched it slightly, it would wobble for another minute or two. Also, it could easy tip over because the metal is so lite. I have a $20 IKEA lamp stand that’s stronger and heavier than this thing. I do use a sandbag or other weight to provide stability when needed. One of these monopods, with some friction arms, is a must have. Ifootage quality and design is top notch.
