This series has me hooked!!
4.5 stars! This is book three of the “Blood and Ash” series and can not be read as a stand alone. WOW!! That ending was perfection. I absolutely love how this series is growing. The secrets unfolding are so much fun. I love Poppy and Casteel so very much but I think they get to be a little much. I’m still a die hard Kieran fan. And now the Gods, what is a girl gonna do with herself. This book gives you action, spice, humor, tragedy, twists, and so much more. Even just watching Poppy learn her powers and heritage is worth it all.

I can’t get enough of this series. So addicted to the characters and storyline. Like I’ve stated in my other reviews if you love Sarah Maas’s books, you will love Jennifer’s. In fact Sarah Maas recommended this series and I can see why. Do yourself a favor and read this series

Spicy Romantasy with lots of World Building
Love Poppy and Casteel’s character growth and love story in this one. I did feel like it stalled out in the middle and found myself not …-*devouring*_ as I did the first two books in the series. Pretty good amount of spice!

This installment was an emotional rollercoaster. The stakes were higher, the betrayals sharper, and Poppy’s growth was phenomenal. I loved seeing her fully step into her power while still holding onto her compassion. Armentrout’s world-building continued to amaze me—intricate, magical, and filled with surprises. The twists had me gasping, and the emotional moments between Poppy and Cas hit me hard. This book was heavier in lore, but it felt worth it for the depth it added. The Crown of Gilded Bones was epic, heart-wrenching, and unforgettable.

❗️minor spoiler alerts ❗️ Whhhhatttt. I need more. 🔥🥵😱 “You are the foundation that helps me stand. You are my walls and my roof. My shelter. You are my home.” I. AM. IN. LOVE. WITH. POPPY&CASTEEL. 👏🏼🤤 I also, LOVE Kieran. ▪️The characters in this book, ugh. So good. ▪️There was so many things happening & some chapters had me STRESSED AF, but I was 100% here for it. ▪️Miss Willa Collins, YES! ▪️I will say, still times I was confused as all get out on who was who, and who is the daddy!? ▪️The way Cas bows to his Queen and just adores the ground she walks on, uhhh….MELT 🫠🔥 But. The ending. MY HEART!! 1. She is a bad-ass, QUEEN 👑 2. Hoooowww am I suppose to move to Flesh & Fire series for the “correct reading order” and not know what’s happening next!? 3. I need to more Cas/Poppy….and some Kieran thrown in.

Books aren't all the same size.
If you're like me and hate when the book sizes don't match you will hate the copies available on Amazon. The first book is the only one out out of the four that is a smaller size and the rest are all bigger. Annoys the crap out of me. Buy a boxset if you can. Star rating is for the book physical format. Story rating is 5/5.

Loved how nicely the story is woven
Book quality was alright not great. Poppy Balfour's discoveries are the most intriguing part of this book. I am pretty sure I'll read this whole series again.

The pages are literally cut on the side, dkw, you can still read it content was not damaged but why??
