Handy!!
I use this handy little desktop fan EVERY DAY at work. It's pretty quiet on the lower setting, and provides me just the right amount of cooling breeze without clearing my desktop of paperwork. It was comparatively cheap, runs on a handy USB port on my desk lamp, and the size is small enough to squirrel away in the corner by my printer. PERFECT.

Cute, small, but packs a mini punch
Cute mini fan, but even with its small size & footprint, provides a nice breeze within a few feet. Don't expect this fan to make whirlwinds in a room, but, its just so cute sitting on my tower desktop computer. Considering it uses USB, most laptops / computers have at least a couple ports, I would assume its lifespan should compare with an internal computer cooling fan. Being a mini version of a full size floor fan, adjustment is exactly the same, and as it doesn't have any additional weighting on the unit, its rather light. Cord length provides enough to place the fan enough distance from where it is plugged in, even if you plug it into the back of a desktop computer and run the fan to the front. The noise level is pretty much just the sound of air flow, but as it is new, depending on the bearings used in the fans manufacture, over time the bearings will slowly wear, and not only the noise level, but also the fans spinning, will show signs of age. If you want a room circulating fan, I would expect to pay twice the price of this unit, but as this unit is a "personal" fan, its an acceptable price. I predict, for what I see, the unit to last at least a year, depending on use, maybe three..

More NOISE than they used to be.
A few years ago AMAZON Basics had a small 4 inch fan like this and it was ultra quiet. The six inch, not so much. But their little fours were wonderful. I see they don't sell them anymore and these are now sold under a thousand different names, only real difference is one speed or two speed. Some people complain about the noise others are ok with it. I did not measure the noise, it may be 40dBa or less I don't know, but it is ANNOYING at 10 feet. It is a rapid pulsating type of noise. Due entirely to the motor design, not the blades. Here is the good news. Nice metal cage and wire frame painted black. Nice metal fan blade. Nice rubber pads on the frame for feet. Metal frame is reversible. Moves a lot of air. My tests show 0.38A max on low and 0.45A max on high both at 5.06-5.07V exactly as advertised. The bad news is the only way I can see to fix the noise is to replace the magnets with weaker ones or weaken these or just replace the motor. Honestly a 120mm PC case fan pushes just as much air and is far more quiet. Love the metal and the looks though.
