Game changer.
I was actually kind of surprised when this showed up. My expectations were pretty low for some reason. But when it came I found it to be of really high quality. It looks and feels good, it almost is nicer than the espresso machine. I did have some concern that the machine wouldn't be able to handle it as the manufacturer actually states that my Delonghi Stilosa doesn't have the ability to manage pressure without the provided pressurized basket. But this works great, over and over again. It really made dialing in a lot easier. It is much nicer than the provided portafilter and fits perfectly. Do yourself a favor and order this, get rid of the pressurized basket. I don't have any issue with leaking, and the basket fits snugly into the machine. Fantastic portafilter.

A great choice for De'Longhi ECP3420
When I originally went to replace the De'Longhi portafilter on my unit, I went with a cheaper one thinking they would all be about the same. That one, it turned out did not perform well, the wooden handle became loose and the portafilter still leaked when screwed completely into the machine. With some reluctance, I bought this one to replace it even though it cost $15 more. As it turned out, this was a good investment. The handle doesn't come loose, and it screws tightly into the machine with no leaking. Plus, it matches the machine better in appearance than the wooden-handled one did. As with any naked portafilter, your grind and tamp will be more critical than with the original portafilter. The one that comes with the machine is designed to bring the pressure up to 9 bars by forcing all the water through a tiny hole in the bottom. The quality of your tamp has little effect on the results unless you overtamp it. When using this portafilter, you'll need to find just the right grind fineness and tamp pressure to get good results (although, even my lesser results have been better than what I was getting with the portafilter that came with the machine). Well worth the price.

Excellent Upgrade – Perfect Fit and Great Espresso Quality
This bottomless portafilter fits my Delonghi machine perfectly and has been a real upgrade to my coffee routine. The build feels solid, with a sturdy stainless steel basket and comfortable handle. The two-ear design locks in securely, and the 51mm size is precise for these models. Using a bottomless portafilter has helped me improve my technique—now I can see the extraction process clearly, adjust grind size, and get richer crema. Cleanup is simple, and the overall quality is much better than expected for the price. If you want to take your espresso to the next level, this is a reliable and well-made accessory. Highly recommended for Delonghi owners who enjoy dialing in their shots.

Spraying coffee everywhere
It just sprays coffee everywhere. From the sides, through the filter, then there’s the coffee running down the handle and dripping on the floor. It made a huge mess. I’ll return it.

Nice tool
This bottomless portafilter fits and works perfectly with my DeLonghi Stilosa. Coffee comes out smoothly without any channeling or straying. I do follow the directions and make sure to fully tighten things and use a good grinder the grinds finely enough for espresso. The design looks nice and fits well with the machine. Finally, the fact that it’s bottomless makes it easy to clean. Overall, this is a helpful tool.

Dont listen to the "spray" sayers.
People who are saying this leaks or sprays just have poor prep techniques, and that is coming from someone who literally just did this today for the first time (not using a pressurized basket). I have a delonghi stilosa ec260bk. I found the sweet spot for me to be about 17 or 18 grams in. Using a puck prep and tamping kit i got from Amazon for $25, I used a WDT to do an initial distribution and insure the coffee was even with no pockets in it. Then I used the included distribution tool to pre tamp and distribute more evenly and more level. I then tamped down with all my might pretty much and put a puck screen on top. The result was an amazing crema that came out in drops for a 1 or 2 seconds before meeting in the middle for a light, gold, blonde crema coming straight from the basket. I tried using 14 grams at first and it was simply too little and I didnt get the uniform dispensing I described before, but as an espresso noob, I found this super easy to use with just a bit of effort. Mind you this was 1 week old cafe bustelo pre ground. Not any specialty coffee or fancy grinder. Dont listen to the people who say it doesn't fit or that it sprays. If you turn it as far as you can, put the right amount of coffee with the right prep, and give it a couple trys to get right, you will be super happy. Oh yeah, not to mention.. the build quality arguably nicer than the machine lol its shiny and feels like it should cost twice or 3 times the price.

Great for Delonghi Stilosa
Fit me Delonghi Stilosa perfectly. I was originally planning to upgrade to an IMS basket but the one that came with the portafilter was surprisingly good quality. Is it as good as an IMS? Probably not, but the holes are even and clean cut and it makes great espresso.

Works, but not well enough
Not a true fit for the DeLonghi ECP3420. It leaks quite a bit. I would purchase the OEM filter holder assembly from the DeLonghi website. It's an everyday struggle to keep it from leaking everywhere when making a cup.

Exactly as expected, 2 ear bottomless portafilter, fits my delonghi ecp 3420 espresso machine. Tried it out this morning, works well, no leaks. Arrived next day with prime delivery.

It’s a bit strange to read reviews saying that coffee sprays everywhere with this portafilter. It doesn’t offer any special advantage over a standard portafilter in terms of taste or espresso quality. What this filter actually provides: 1. If you make mistakes when tamping the coffee, it may result in splashes, uneven flow, and other issues. This means your tamping technique is incorrect and needs practice. Once tamping is done correctly, the result will be excellent and splash-free. 2. It is significantly more compact in height, which allows you to place coffee scales on your machine’s platform. 3. It enables more experimentation with grind size.

If you have a delonghi espresso machine with two ears portafilter and want to start with unpressurised basket. This is the perfect tool. High quality and affordable price. Don't buy it unless you have a espresso level grinder.

Fits the grouphead but leaks/sprays water which is dangerous.
