The best cat scratcher!
Extremely easy to assemble and very sturdy. In the 6 years that I've owned this item and it's yet to tip over. My cats both absolutely love this scratcher. I've tried a number of different ones and this one is by far the best. I actually came onto Amazon today to buy a new one because after 3 years mine is starting to come apart. I'm so upset that there are no more in stock. PLEASE, PLEASE restock this item so that my cats don't go back to scratching my couch!

Good value, cat likes it, saved my furniture!
Great product, easily assembled, sleek design, cat loves it, durable jute. Will probably buy another. Only criticism is that I think it could be a couple pounds heavier. My cat moves it quite a bit when scratching even with the post on carpet and in a corner. Never to the point of pulling it onto herself but some added weight would really help. Also, a taller version would be awesome. My cat loves to stretch vertically when scratching and easily can reach the top of the center post. She also uses the bottom posts every now and again. Overall good value, saved furniture, happy cat.

5 stars out of 5
Bought this for my two 12 lbs cats. I rubbed fresh catnip on the posts to get both interested and only one took the bait. My other cat is starting to come around but overall is a good scratching post. From the pictures, it seemed like this would be tall enough for my boys but it was just barely tall enough for one of my cats to scratch. Also, the shape of the structure seems that it would solve the tipping problem that is common with scratching posts but the one cat that likes it has already tipped it over.I'm rating this based on the quality of the scratching post, not based on whether my cats like/use it.I actually want to give this 4.5 stars for the design and sturdiness but I want to minus 0.5 stars since I did notice some glue on the edges of one of the post and it concerns me of the possibility of ingestion by my cats. In the meantime, both cats ignore that excess glue and don't seem to even pay attention to it. Having said that, I would buy this again.Do recommend it for cats who enjoy scratching on vertical surfaces.Edit 5/2019: rating this 5 stars. The glue was no issue to either of my boys and both love to use it.

Cat Loves This
The cat was attacking the couch several times a day and using it for scratching post. We already had a cat tree with a scratching post but not near the couch. We got the first one of these and put it near the couch where the cat liked to scratch and it corrected the behavior immediately. She loves to run from across the room and attack the tripod scratching post. She climbs to the top and rubs her face. Lays underneath and puts out her claws and digs in with bunny kicks. The jute does wear out over time, especially at the top from her pulling on it when she climbs. The glue only holds so long. I bought some extra jute to wrap around and tie on myself and it's fine. We like this item so much that we bought a second one and she'll run from one to the other and take out her beastness on both of them. We unscrewed a couple of the joints and wrapped toys around the metal screw and tightened back down and she plays with the toys that hang down. Trying to get them off but the joints screw in tight and she can't. Just buy it.

Useless (for my cats at least)
My two cats love to climb things, and they especially love scratching posts. However, they have not seemed to “respond” to this one, and haven’t given it the time of day. I also tried rubbing their favorite catnip on it to no avail. Not sure if it’s just their personalities, or if it’s just not designed well. My cats love everything scratch/toy-related but this one didn’t fly.

Great but....
I think this is very unique and great product but unfortunately if it’s not on carpet it will slide. I thought I could put this against the corner of our couch but my cat just goes around it. Every single time that I’ve seen her try to use it it just slides and she can’t get that great of a scratch out of it. That’s probably why she still scratches the couch...It doesnt move when she digs her claws into it lol! I’m still gonna keep it and try to figure out how to get it to not slide as much.

The best cat post you can buy! So good I bought a 2nd one.
I bought one of these for the first time a few years ago because it was small and cheaper than other ones I saw. When we got a 2nd cat I got another one. They both love this one the most. They like that you can get under the legs and "attack" them. The only other ones of this size I could find are a "T" shape, just one post straight up from a base. Those always eventually break. The 3 legged design on this one is so sturdy. I did re-sisal the top post after a few years because they eventually ripped it to shreds, but that's because the post did it's job, and it is still just as sturdy as day 1.

Fairly sturdy for average-sized cats
one of my favorite Internet cats recommended this scratcher. I like that it is tall and put it together for my boys (~9lb each) relatively easily (there are no instructions but the 3 same-length posts go on the bottom). They enjoy scratching it, for sure. It's sturdy and hasn't fallen over but does slide. It may not be the best scratching post for especially chonky cats, but I imagine it can be anchored if you need it to stay in place.I do wish the rope was glued and not stapled. I'll have to keep an eye out for errant staples.
