It's like having an Osteopath at Home!
My osteopath went on vacation and I went searching for self-healing tools. The sacro-wedgy holds my pelvis in exactly the same position that she holds holds me. And most importantly, it works! I have piriformis syndrome that at the best cause tingling down the back of my leg to my foot and at the worst causes shooting sciatic nerve pain. When I stretch according to the positions included in the brochure and lay on the sacrowedgy, I can go to bed after with no tingling. Massaging the piriformis with a lacrosse ball or massage cane help, too. Pink fits perfectly. I put the black platform underneath and I also put another identically sized platform (that my husband made out of wood) underneath that. I'm not an athlete, but it gives me a deeper stretch. Also, if you have a butt, you may need more than 1 platform to raise your pelvis high enough. You may also need support for your knees. I'm not sure how this would affect the sacrum stretch, but I'm going to put a bolster under my knees next time. I lay on the mat with my pelvis in the air, my heels on the ground and my knees are hyperextended. It hasn't caused a problem yet, but a knee bolster would make it more comfortable. They recommend a neck support in order to get full spinal traction. I've tried it and it's good, but I also like to use it with the stillpoint inducer to get rid of tension headaches at the same time.

No clear evidence this works
Like others who have suffered from lower back pain, after a while you get desperate for a way to ease your pain. I'm sure this is why most people eventually buy this product. The theory is sound, if you give the muscles around your lower back a chance to relax by lying on this "wedge" the pain should ease. However the problem arises with trying to get it in the correct place. Unless you're a contortionist this is always going to be an issue. There is also limited scientific evidence that this intervention has any real affect (I couldn't find any). Whilst it is reportedly similar to methods used by chiropractors, there is also limited scientific evidence that their methods work either. In addition, the gushing reviews on here are very suspicious. I appreciate it could work for some people, but no intervention works instantly as some claim. So I would ignore any over the top reviews claiming such. So, whilst I was willing to give it a try (because I'm in pain), I only did so because if it didn't work I knew I could return the product for free on Amazon. It didn't work for me & I'm dubious regarding its efficacy. Well meaning perhaps, but lack of results don't support its claims.

Great for sacral self correction.
Iโm a PT with a SI issue and this thing is great for self correcting sacral torsions or sidebent sacrum. It is firm to lie on so it may be uncomfortable if your SI is hypersensitive. You can start without the black foam base or pad it with a towel. You need to lie on a hard surface (like the floor or table) for it to work properly. It canโt correct a inominate compensation, so correct that after you use it with self stretching after. I do recommend this for my patients that need intermittent correction for a sacral issue. I highly recommend anyone with an SI issue to see a PT that specializes in SI for their condition because this area is a dumping ground for pain and a lot of structures refer to this area. Your SI can compensate for a hip, leg, back issue, or gait disorder so it is important to get that assessed and addressed first to find the mechanical cause of your pain.

Years of pain CURED
I've had lower back pain for ages, then my tailbone started hurting, then I had shooting pain down my legs, then I had pain in my heels - basically everything from the waist down was in agony. After research I found my trouble spot was my sacroiliac joints, I did exercises specific to treating the area and I found some relief. But I wasn't "cured" - not until I got this thing! Imagine you have had lower back, hip, leg, heel pain for years, you lay down for 20 minutes and you get up and wow, nothing hurts at all. Sound completely impossible? It isn't. This product relieved every ounce of pain I had been burdened with, I am not exaggerating at all. You absolutely need to try this if you suffer from any of the same pains I described. Make sure you read the directions carefully, use the neck support as they advised (I just rolled up a towel until it was the right thickness for my neck). And pay especially careful attention to where your tailbone rests! It *has to* lay in the cradle of the "wedgy". It might take some adjustments to get it right the first time, just take your time getting it in the right spot. When you first start, yes it will hurt a little. It hurt laying on the hard plastic for maybe the first 10 minutes, but then it began to fade away. I highly advise doing the exercises that come with the product in a little pamphlet. I feel like it helps set my hips right and I stand up and it's honestly miraculous how I feel NOTHING. I haven't not had pain in my lower body in.. I don't even know how long. I cannot say enough good things about this product. Please please try it if you are in pain. Read the instructions, use the neck support, put on some soothing music and let yourself relax. It's actually really simple and worth it!
