Stetson Men's Oily Timber Leather Ivy Cap

Looking at the reviews of those with XL head size I was a bit worried but decided to try it. I have an XL head 7 5/8" (61cm) and this cap fits. I would describe the elastic band fit as snug but not tight. If I press I can still insert one finger between my head and the firmer outside circumference of the cap. The cap looks sharp and the materials seem to be high quality. The actual cap lies on the head in a much flatter shape than the rounded top sales image shows.

This is my first leather cap which I ordered in brown and now I want the black one too. The leather is top quality, supple and a well made. Quality is over the top just what you would expect from Stetson. I wear a 7 1/8 and the S/M is true to size. I own many Irish tweed handmade hats but this one is now my favorite hat and it seems to be a bit warmer too. I highly recommend this hat from a fantastic seller.

A gift for my husband and he loves it. It might be a little large but such a comfortable fit that it's no worry. And looks great on him!

Decades ago I bought a leather snap-bill hat at a craft fair and loved that hat. Left it at a restaurant and it became someone else's joy. I finally reclaimed that joy with this, my first Stetson hat. Craftsmanship, materials and looks are all what I hoped for. What I wasn't prepared for was how comfortable this hat is. I've got too many baseball hats and they all rely on being tight so they don't blow off. This is very different. With a low profile it stays where I put it. I like the looks of it and me while wearing it. It's still summer in Oregon so I don't really know if it will be warm in the cold, but I reckon it will be. I do know it is not so hot in the summer that I won't wear it. It's comfy.The only issue is the size. It was difficult to guess what size to order so I settled for medium. I've a small head and thought that's where I should order, but guidelines moved me to medium in the belief that if I was wrong I could do what I always do with too-small hats. Put stuff in the sweat band. I found some foam that works just fine and some carpet tape keeps it there. Nothing to do with the hat, the only problem is my choice.Don't be shy about this hat. There are others out there at 1/3 of the price, but this is a Stetson and the feelings of it gracing your brow will last a long, long time.

I have a few driving caps and this is one of the winter hats. Not all such caps are made the same, or even cut the same. I like the cut on this hat very much, the leather is supple and rich; however, it is too big and I am concerned it might blow off while driving my old two seater. The cap is only available in two sizes, small/medium, and large/extra large. That is too broad a range for Stetson NOT to provide some means of letting out or snugging up the band. Ideally this item would be available in a broader range of sizes, short of that there needs to be an additional feature to the hat to adjust the fit. Maybe an overlay in the hatband with a velcro tab to snug it up; or, radical thought, perhaps this "Ivy Driving Cap" could have a nicely realized small "Ivy Buckle" on the back to draw the circumference a mite smaller. Unless you have your own method of correcting the too casual sizing on this otherwise nice cap, I suggest you pass this one by and keep looking.

This is a good hat, usual Stetson quality. The X/XL is a little snug and it's not clear if it will stretch at all (I wear a 7 3/4-7 5/8, depending on brand). My only real negative is that the color is more of a "chocolate milk" brown rather than the dark brown that appears in the image on my browser. I nearly returned it for that reason, but decided not to. Having worn it a few times now, I am considering rubbing it with Pecard's oil to see if it darkens, but not sure as I don't want to ruin it.

This is my second Stetson Cap. I lost the first when traveling. Stetson makes really great hats and caps and one can rely on Stetsons for consistent top quality. This second purchase fits better than my first as I have learned to order a size larger than the chart recommends for my hat size for the very best fit.wd

My husband was in need of a new hat of this style. It is my job to shop for one and I liked this one. When it arrived he loved it and it fit perfectly! Well made and nice looking!
