Hand basting thread for couture
YLI Silk #100 thread is one of the best threads for doing haute couture sewing. It's perfect for hand basting seams together and then directly sewing over the baste stitch. Because this thread is silk and has a low twist, it is smooth and easy to hand sew with, and when sewn over with a machine it is very easy to take out with a seam ripper. It also comes in a variety of colors so that you can choose a contrasting one for visibility. Overall a wonderful thread, and am very glad that it is sold on Amazon.

My favorite thread for appliqué
Time for another spool as this is my favorite thread for appliqué. Sleek thread disappears into your work lending it a high quality look. I really enjoy working with silk for all my appliqué and broderie perse projects. It a pleasure to work with. Thanks!

darker shade of silver thread
My first spool of silver silk thread! It is very delicate. I am planning to use it to wrap around home made tassels. I love the pewter-ish silver color, not garish at all.

Lovely thread.
Although this thread is meant for sewing appliqué, I used it to hand quilt a wall hanging as it was the perfect colour. Worked beautifully!
