Outdoor Use Only!??
Valve looks nice and seems to work but after installation for indoor fireplace project I noticed in the fine print the product is for outdoor use only!!!! What, why would anyone buy a nice decorative gas key valve with pewter floor plate flange "perfect for your gas fire pit or fireplace project", "it will last whether installed indoors or outdoors" and use it only for outdoor projects. Product description says indoors or outdoors, but the little instruction paper does say for outdoor use only. Seller has verified that the valve can safely be used for indoor applications.

Buy this one
There's no need to consider spending more on a 3/4" key valve... for $30 this is as good as any I've used or seen. The NPT threads are cut well, the fully-open inside diameter is actually larger than some valves allowing a greater gas flow, overall construction is great, and operation is smooth. I purchased this valve to replace a SkyFlame valve that cost about the same but has over-sized inlet and outlet thread diameter (not standard NPT although they say it is) and an under-sized fully open diameter restricting maximum BTU throughput. I don't recommend that brand. There are also many other key valves out there for twice the money, but there's no reason to spend more.

Quality product
Product arrived on the provided date based on my prime membership.It looks like a quality product from it's appearance and weightThere are no install instructions or guidance as to how to properly install or this item.Granted, there is only one way that it works but I feel that there should be some tips on how this interacts with a surface product.

Fireplace remodel out with the old, in with the new!
We recently had a complete remodel of our fireplace. The remodel was caused by water damage from roof. I decided to go to my favorite place to research items (Amazon) for the new fireplace. We decided not to reinstall the old boring door which hid the gas on/off valve. We purchased the 1/2 inch gas key and valve to complete the look. ( also needed a new fireplace mantle, which I will also review my "Pear mantle is a gem") see the before and after pics. The Valve was a breeze to install and is adjustable in depth via the threaded sleeve. The pewter finish is exactly what was needed.
