DrybarReserve Ultralight Anti-Frizz Blow-Dryer

Buttercup vs. Reserve
I was in the market for a new blow dryer & have used Drybar’s Buttercup for many years, years ago. Also, Baby Buttercup. I originally ordered a Baby Buttercup from another retailer, but the handle was broken out of the box. Returned & no more in stock. So I ordered a Buttercup on Amazon…AND this Reserve to see if there was really any difference. The Reserve is newer & clearly has a very different look! Both are very similar in that they have 3 heat settings (hot, medium, cool), 2 air settings (high & low), a cool shot button, a 9’ cord & an 1875 watt motor. Both dryers come with 2 nozzles. Buttercup weighs in at 1lb 2oz & Reserve at 1lb.I have naturally fine, medium-density, straight hair. Both dryers claim to reduce frizz; while that’s not an issue for me it’s a nice to have. I found both dryers comfortable & lightweight, well made, feel high quality. My hair dried quickly & nice & smooth - but that’s a combination of the right tools & products, not just a dryer.I chose Buttercup in the end - I wanted the Bouncer diffuser attachment to use with my velcro rollers & the diffuser does not fit Reserve. Personally, I think the signature Buttercup yellow is cheerful! Both gave terrific results.

Ridiculous. Not worth the hype.
Not sure what I expected from this, to be honest. But for $300, I thought I’m not even gonna need products or a roly brush. This thing will perform a miraculous magic hair transformation. Nope. Even with the products and the brushes I’ve used all my life. Nothing about this hair dryer is any better. As a matter of fact, my rusk hair dryer that I got at TJ Maxx for $39 is 100% more productive. Just walk away.

Great for arthritic wrists!
I have weak arthritic wrists and my old dryer was too painful to hold and maneuver. Enter this lovely lightweight dryer! Bonus-it really does reduce the frizzes when you use the end cap. I hope it lasts since it was quite expensive.

Highly recommend but
This really is a fantastic hair dryer and works as advertised. The only thing is that it is ridiculously expensive. Definitely over priced but it does what it says it will do.

I Don't See the Benefit
This acts like a normal hair dryer for me. It's a fan attached to a heating element. Maybe it's a bit less staticky? But I certainly still had frizz and static when using it.What's worse, is you're paying $285 for a hair dryer with no attachments, or fancy options. It is light weight (lighter than many), the heat coming out of it is consistent. The quality of it is good... but so it is a $50 hair dryer... and many of those do have attachments and other options. This hair dryer does come with a GFI switch on the plug itself, which is an odd, but neat inclusion if you travel... but this is too big to do any serious travel with, so I think it's largely a waste. The cord is about 104 inches long.

Good but overpriced
Blow dryer was fine, but not worth $200. Can’t return now as I missed return window. Does leave hair frizz-ish free compared to cheaper models.
