This is a very smart book. I was anti-rubric before I read this
This is a very smart book. I was anti-rubric before I read this, but now I see that well-written rubric not only induces instsructors to make assignment instructions more clear but also helps students better understand assignments. Although I will not replace individualized comments with a rubric only, good rubrics are not grading "cheat sheets." This book is a must have for instructors of any level.

Better than Acceptable! 🤩
This book was listed in "Acceptable" condition. NO! This book was NEW! The only indicator of it being used was a last name printed on the first page. Other than that, this book is new! I've purchased books from the book store that have more wear and tear.

Maybe Now My Rubrics, Assessments, and Grading will be more effective
Since I didn't get much training on these topics when I went through alternative teacher certification I have been doing a poor job at all three. This book has some very good info and samples that will help me greatly improve how I prepare and use these metrics.... This in turn will help my students better understand upfront expectations and will more effectively measure what they've learned and gaps I need to reteach.

Easy to understand the differences among types of rubrics
This book definitely clarified the type of rubrics that can be used for formative assessments, grading and student self-assessment. I will be referring to the examples located at the end of the book!

Rubrics Make Sense, Consistency and Expectations Should Be Transparent
This will be a great book for someone looking to learn how to create and use rubric for K-12. I did not do a thorough check and realized it is not geared towards college level students. I did find a detailed rubric book "Rubric Assessment Goes to College".
