Furhaven Orthopedic Dog Bed for Large/Medium Dogs w/ Removable Bolsters & Washable Cover, For Dogs Up to 55 lbs - Plush & Suede Sofa - Gray, Large

Ordered a large plush and suede sofa orthopedic pet bed last summer for our 45# Brittany boy. He loves it and we love it as it’s easy to wash, comes out of dryer like new and vacuums clean like no other bed we’ve had. And that’s a lot of competition, as there have been many. So pleased that we just ordered a second and will donate the 2 oval high sided beds we ordered recently that are a pain to vacuum. The sleep surface of this bed is not ‘lambs wool” type nap. It is more of a plush. If you have a short haired, cold type of dog, or you want the material to come up around them, then you may not be happy. As far as supportive or soft sleep surface, both are supportive, but I have to note the new one seems to have firmer bolsters and thicker memory foam than the one received last year. Both foam inserts have egg crate shaped surface. So perhaps the company uses different sources, thus the variance in good/poor reviews. When I read the reviews before ordering last week, I was concerned with the negative comments. But happily, both of ours meet the needs of our Brittany boy and English setter (32#) girl just fine. I think these are a great value. I highly recommend this bed. PS just went on the company website and I was impressed with the variety, quality and pricing. PSS now 5 months on since writing and forgetting to submit above review. Beds have held up spectacularly, so ez to care for. Eggcrates held up and are just the right firmness. Just ordered and received 2 more beds for winter house. Can’t say enough about quality, comfort and price. Best I’ve seen in 25 years and 4 pups. Note, in the picture of Charlie, the red and white Brit, the bed appears to be too small. He is tall, about 25” to top of head when standing, but the large size is perfect for him. He usually has his head on the bolster which nicely supports his 13+ year old neck.

This is my second Furhaven Orthopedic Dog Bed for Large Dogs. The only reason I needed a new one was that the old one was left out on the deck and got soaked in the rain. I was concerned about mold, so rather than dry it out, I chucked it and bought a new one. This is the best dog bed at this price point. Our dog loves it. Buy one. You won't be sorry.

We have had 3-4 of these. They last a long time if your dog is non-destructive. All of our dogs love it and take turns for it. If I was a dog, I would want one. It comes assembled and ready to use. The thickness of the mattress is appropriate and feels good to the touch. In terms of size it will fit medium to large dogs comfortably. Extra-Large dogs (i.e., King Shepherd, San Bernard) would be a stretch. The cover is not waterproof but is machine washable. If you need some liquid protection, consider installing a disposable dog pad between the cover and the mattress. That will save you from messy infiltration into the mattress.

Fido of course loves it. Its easy to clean and it fits in his "room" the crate when we travel. Glad I bought it

Advisory- This product was tested on Humans lol aka me... I’m humans, and human APPROVES. Feedback- Omg I swear my boy Zeus is sleeping in the CLOUDS. When I first read the description I was really doubtful! Soft and tough?! Theirs no way. I honestly wasn’t expecting it to last too long in my house. Zeus has a bad habit of biting and... ahem... showing his beds “extra love” if you know what I mean(wink wink). Yes, yes he humps his beds lol. We’ve bought many beds in the past and it was like living in the Goldie Locks story... this bed was too hard, this bed was too weak! But dudes... this bed is juuuuust right!! We’ve had it for about a week already and I’ve caught Zeus already biting it, but it has no holes no tears, nothing! I’ve also caught him showing “extra love” and luckily it has removable covers! I just unzip it and throw it in the wash! I don’t throw it in the dryer though, the material is a soft fur and I think hang drying it keeps it from roughening up. And oh boy we do not want that to happen. I swear this bed is so soft and smooth, Angels give birth on it. The bedding on the inside is like those eggshell foam bed things and it is AMAZING. Also the COST!! I’m from Hawaii and NOTHINGS cheap here. At our local pet store, a small bed goes for $40-50! When I read the description and saw the cost I was like no way... My son Zeus is so happy! He may have to fight me for it soon though lol. Reviews: Softness: 5/5, it so smooth you might slip & break your hip if you aren’t too careful.. Durability: 4/5, Id give more but we’re only a week in. I may change this after a while. Easy To Clean: 5/5, you just zip, wash, & dry. Simple. Cost: 5/5, it’s worth we’ll over the price it’s at now. Recommendation: 10/5!! Even if you don’t have a pet buy it for yourself! You won’t be disappointed. BUYER BEWARE! It may turn your doggo into a lazy HAM!

UPDATED: The bed is well made, a good value. Just let the foam expand for a couple hours and take your time zipping in the foam and bolsters. Not sure about fabric durability, so 4 stars. I would buy it again. After my first time washing the fabric part of the bed, I updated my review to 5 stars. The fabric came out of the washer and dryer looking brand new. With just a little care when replacing the bolster and the main foam piece this bed should have a good lifespan. IMO it’s a great value, and my dog loves it,

This only just arrived this evening, and my very picky Husky has already taken to it. Diesel is 13 years old, weighs about 65lbs, and only started to use a dog bed about 2 years ago. Everything is either uncomfortable for him or too hot, mostly the latter. Recently though I noticed he had been using the previous bed more often, as well as my couch (only when he thinks no one is watching). His previous one was an orthopedic mat by Bedsure, and I think he only used it because that’s what he had. So with Christmas coming up, I figured it was a great opportunity to get him an early gift and we are both not disappointed. It comes in an overstuffed cardboard box, the foam inserts sitting on top of the cover. Instructions are very clear. First step is to take the foam out of the vacuum sealed packaging and let it reform. While that’s happening there are two pockets to unzip, one being the main portion and the other is underneath for the pillow top that goes around the bed. Assembly was very quick. When I first laid it out without the foam inside I didn’t think it was going to be big enough, especially compared to the Bedsure lying next to it. Once I got all the foam inserted I could see that my assumption was incorrect. Plenty of space for Diesel. He came over to check it out and plopped right down. Initially he stayed on the bed for about 10-15 minutes, then went and found some cooler floor tile. About 3 hours after I unpacked it though, I came into the den to find him totally passed out on this bed. I’m pretty sure that in itself speaks volumes. He loves it. And that’s saying a lot because he normally doesn’t sleep this easily and deep in the Bedsure. Winner in my book, and Diesel’s! Thanks Furhaven!

I purchased 2 of these beds in December 2021 for our new puppy mill rescue breeder mini golden doodle. They were perfect. I wanted to replace one bed and I went back to furhaven. The bed arrived yesterday. We took the cover out and thought the new material was nice. We first removed the foam and discovered the egg crate fingers were much further apart. Next the bolster. What were you thinking. Was ridiculous. When placed inside, the outer cover just laid flat. Upon further inspection we discovered it was filled (if you call it filling) with little pieces of foam. We were fortunate to have our other bed toreplace all FOAM. DO NOT RECOMMEND this bed

Good quality dog bed.

The bed is nice looking. My Goldendoodle seems to like it. His old bed was now lumpy from age and I found at night, he would moan and groan when shifting his position on his old bed. He would get up in morning and would stretch and kinda groan and throw me dirty looks. I took it as "Get me a new frickin bed, Mom!" So I got this one. He, now, does not wake in the night or morning groaning , moaning stretching or throwing like he has a stiff body or throwing dirty looks so I take that as a major plus. Would I have liked to have seen the egg carton bed part thicker?-for sure but laying on it with the distribution of my weight-if I were a Goodendoodle I would say "Paws up, Mom!"

After months of use I have to say it is perfect in all aspects.

UPDATE: BEST BED. My dogs love this bed I have a 80lbs golden retriever it is a little tight but he likes curl up, perfect for a medium sized dog.*** I also want to say the base is all one piece, most beds like this are several pieces and a pain to put the cover back on. This bed is SO EASY to clean and put the cover back on, and I have had for almost a year 2 dogs and it looks like new. Fantastic product!!!
