This battery has been great so far. I installed it in my JBL Charge 3 and it brought my speaker back to life. It fit perfectly, was easy to install, and the speaker powered on and charged normally with no issues. The battery life is really good and lasts much longer than my old battery did. I also liked that it came with a screwdriver and a prying tool, which made the replacement process a lot easier. Overall, I’m really happy with this replacement battery. It’s a great option if your JBL Charge 3 battery is getting old or not holding a charge anymore.

My Charge 3 JBL Speaker has been great for 6 or 7 years but had started running down after a full charge in only a day or two. I decided to look at YouTube for instructions on how to replace the battery. Sure enough they are there. I ordered this from the YouTube link provided (in the comments with the video) and when the battery arrived, sat down and followed it step by step. I will add one thing. You should make sure you have a Phillips screwdriver with a proper tip. (#1 tip or even a #0 tip). This is next sharper than a #2 tip - which most people own. This battery comes with a phillips driver that you can make work but you will hate life after a few minutes. Just get a decent screwdriver not a tiny Fisher Price model that this comes with. Also, if you have someone who can video you removing the screws (go slow and make sure they can get a good shot of each screw location) then you may just manage to put them all back!! I was pretty careful and when all was said and done I had a new battery and everything in place and screwed down AND TWO EXTRA SCREWS!! This was installing a battery in my unit and no screws came with it - so obviously I missed two but there are MANY screws to make sure it is properly sealed and water proof. If you do what I recommend and document you will be fine. Also, the YouTube Video was of a Charge 3 that was not identical to what I was doing - so I could not review the video to see where I missed a couple of screws since it was different enough to not be a fix. It did show the important parts of how the heck to get into the unit and how to remove one of the end caps. Just go slow and steady and watch carefully to get it open without damaging the clips that must snap back together when you are done!! It works perfectly and I am still running two weeks later on the charge from the factory!! Problem solved!

Worked fine, replacement was easy with YouTube guidance. Got rusty screws? Soak them in vinegar, then rinse with 90% alcohol, good as new. Easy peasy done in ten minutes. Speaker doesn’t crackle anymore on high volume.

Great replacement battery. The biggest problem with jbl devices is that their batteries start to fail after a couple years, but with this cheap solution they are good as new. WHEN REPLACING BATTERY, be careful not to cut or damage any cables or wires inside of your speaker. I have had to replace a couple wires inside my speaker by cutting a ribbon cable that I thought was just a strap holding the old battery in.

There are instruction videos on-line that show you how to replace the batter in a JBL Charge 3. This battery was a perfect fit and after installing it, it restored a great portable speaker. A little do-it-yourself is better than throwing out an otherwise fine product.
