ALL TIME BIGGEST FAN!
Where to even start! As a Kindergarten teacher I am all about fine motor/gross motor building, while still learning. Learning through PLAY! That is what HAND2MIND is all about and I could not be happier. I am a BIG fan and more then 50% of my classroom has hand2mind products. This product is one of the best thigs to come out in a while because the combination of cards with letters/image and the child can see their own month move it huge. From Sped students, Speech students, and ESL students this should be a go to tool in all types of classroom settings. From letter work, writing, reading, and of course math; I am seeing BIG learning jumps. My students just think they are playing but they are also taking on their own independent learning. I can go on and on about why every teacher should have hand2mind in their classroom. Especially the fine motor aspect because that's my bread and butter. I am so happy I found hand2mind and that every product is feeling needs of young learners through the power of play.

Just a few days in and my child is speaking clearer
I have a lot of phonetic games and tools at home given to me over the years. I have alphabet books, blocks, electronic devices, and so many other things that help but were not being used consistently by my three year old. He fell when he was one and by the age two his front tooth had to be removed. He has speech issues and needs help with his annunciation. He is extremely intelligent (I mean he knew his colors and numbers before the age 1 and was talking) but we could only understand him in context. I am a SAHM of three young ones who has meals and schedules to follow so my one-on-one time has to be balanced with a very active 1 year old who gets into everything. Despite trying to schedule speech therapy I cannot find a local speech therapist who accepts our insurance, so I decided to continue trying at home. When I bought this item, I was unsure if it would help. In fact, I was pretty sure it would just be a tool that we would use from time to time, but not consistently. However, we received it last week and started this last weekend, with about 5 days of practice once a day and I can already understand him so much better. My son adores this item. What I love is that it is a one stop shop and makes him in charge of his own work. He is very independent and gets frustrated when I try to help him. Before we were both so frustrated because I couldn't understand things that he wanted to say but were just coming out muddled. I am so proud of him and so grateful that this item exists. It is perfect for clear speech for my son. Thank you!

Wonderful tool for speech therapy!
My daughter had some difficulty with some of her letter sounds. This has made practicing her sounds fun! It comes with cards that show you how your mouth and teeth should be positioned for each letter. The cards also have words you can practice speaking for each sound. The mirror is excellent! It allows the child to see if they are accurately positioning their mouth and teeth to master the sounds. I highly recommend this! I'm very happy we found it. It's a wonderful price as well.

Great to motor planning kids
I love this thing! My little one would not look at my mouth to mimic sounds but he will look at this and he likes the mirror! It’s an amazing value and the size is so perfect for him and it’s potable! Buy this!

Great Visual Speech Tool for Infants and Toddlers
I’ve used this phoneme set as a speech therapist with infant- and toddler-aged children, and it’s been a great visual support. The mirrors help little ones become aware of mouth movements, and the cards make early sound play more engaging. It works well for one-on-one sessions and early speech and language development activities.

So close yet so far
I think this had the potential to be an amazing tool. And I guess it still does, but as a LETRS trainer and a literacy coach I am not sure I can recommend this to teachers to use int heir classes. Pros: 1. The size is amazing. Kids have a great view of their own mouth and can compare that to the picture on the cards. 2. The pictures have a lot of diversity - white kids, black kids, and everything in between are represented. 3. The keyword pictures show the sound in the initial spot and in a middle or end spot (except for /ŋ/ which only shows the end). 4. The kickstand on the back makes it easy for kids to set down and work with independently. Cons: 1. Sounds are in alphabetical order. My opinion is that they should be in articulatory and manner order, as if you were going across the rows on a sound wall. This makes me think that they're still stuck in a print to speech approach instead of the reverse. 2. Hand 2 Mind lists the sounds based on how they are often spelled. "Digraphs" is the section where you'll find /ch/ and even /zh/ (even though the latter is not often spelled as a digraph). 3. I think they misunderstand what a diphthong is. I was most disappointed about this piece. Not only do they list sounds that aren't diphthongs as diphthongs but they define a diphthong incorrectly in the guide book ("two vowels can also glide together to make a new sound called a diphthong") 4. They list /ār/ and /ēr/ as phonemes which don't necessarily have an issue with but they leave out /ə/ and /wh/. Is it a terrible product? No. I think it has huge potential. I just thing they missed the mark a little bit. Hopefully they'll reevaluate and rerelease. Unfortunately, I think I'll be returning mine.

Love it
This is such a fun little activity. It's neat to see the preschoolers pull it off the shelf and work through the letters on their own! Great for one on one work too!

Very helpful
Motivated my child to practice his speech sounds. He imitated the pictures and patterns his lips after the models all on his own. We've seen a lot of improvement in a short time. I'll recommend this.
