Far more rugged and with more leverage than the cheap plastic - handled tools. Looks like it will last a long time.As a bonus, the socket, which is separate from the T-handle, has a standard hex shaft and can be used with a power screwdriver (on a low torque setting) if you need to change a lot of spikes.

In my determination that the spikes wouldn’t come out during the run I tightened them so that they wouldn’t come out afterwards either and mashed the key that came with the shoes trying to free them. This key did the job and seems very robust! #meproof

The end of the spanner where it attaches to the spike was finished slightly concave. This meant it did not fit well, and slipped off the spikes.I filed the end flat, and it works much better now.Would have been useless without reworking it.

It can be difficult to remove spikes but with this tool as you can get such good leverage it is just the job. Being metal and with the bar leverage it is easy to get good good purchase on the spikes. Excellent -I can recommend this for all x-c runners especially as spikes can get a bit rusty and stick in the spike plate.

Had some of the plastic handle spike tool but they don’t last long , this tool is more robust and give you more leverage

I had three spikes stuck in my cross-country shoes. I went through two cheaper tools which both broke, and also tried and failed with pliers, before ordering this one. This is a solid, good quality item that feels built to last. It removed the three studs with no bother, so all-in-all I'm very happy with this product. Next day delivery too!
