The only issue is the dispense hole in cap, fluid is thin and the hole is too large. Makes it difficult to just put a drop on the stone. Otherwise works great.

This is the perfect honing oil for our giant antique stone grampa gave us. It will last forever, as the bottle is quite large and you just need a few drops. I highly recommend! We use the stone just for kitchen applications like paring knives and chef knives. Dull knives are terrible and most people do not understand the importance of a sharp set of knives. Take it from me, a chef- get yourself a good chef's knife, 2 good paring knives and maybe a longer knife- like a 5-6 inch for carving and filets and keep them sharp. you don't have to break the bank, either- Zyliss is fantastic and their paring knives are about $6 each.

This Is Awesome Honing Oil!! It helps make my knives Sharp as hell. I just can't say enuff about it's elegant way of buffering the stone and my knives while I sharpen them. Very very good stuff. Super protective of any metals it coats and is cheap. Works great on stones to get an even stroke across them when sharpening.

This stuff is like magic. The size of the bottle is big enough to last a while. The oil works great on all stones and blades. Even lubricates the knives. Can also use as gun oil. Great product

after years of abuse, i clean up and flatten my Black Arkansas hard stone. using this oil the stone stays clean and the knives have become razors again. Honing Oil works very well

Good price for a great product. Gatco is a well known name for a good reason. The products perform as descried, the value is good, and the customer support (should you ever need it) is there.

It's oil. It works. Nuff said.

Original description when I purchased was honing fluid not oil..it's just blue dyed mineral oil so I don't get all these people giving positive answers for getting ripped off....trying to return it now so I can get real honing fluid and not this crap

È un normalissimo olio da affilatura che nel mio caso è arrivato dalla Francia con dei tempi di spedizione eterni.Consiglio per chi affila con pietre ad olio: andate con l'olio di paraffina (anche detto olio di vaselina o olio enologico). Funziona esattamente come i famosi oli americani, costa niente e ce l'hanno quasi tutti i ferramenta/casalinghi/agricole

Ich benutze dieses Schärföl auf meinem Diamant Whetstone und dieser kann zwar trocken benutzt werden, aber setzt sich dann relativ schnell zu.Wasser lasse ich ungern an diese Stahlplatte heran also hat mich kein weg um dieses Öl geführt. Der schnelle Abtrag wird aber Gewährleistet, da der Stahlabtrag mit dem Öl schwimmt und sich nicht zwischen die Diamanten setzt. Nicht für Wassersteine geeignet, da darf nie Öl drauf.Das Öl wird lange halten, da man nur sehr wenig braucht. Gerne wieder!

I shape and sharpen a lot of knives, by hand, using oil whetstones. This is the best oil I have ever used. It goes a long way, a 6 oz. bottle will last a long time. It's also excellent for stone cleaning, as it floats the steel particles with ease.
