Gift for my daughter's fifth birthday
She loves this we've done a bunch of configurations with it just have to be careful around her younger sister who trys to put the marbles in her mouth can be a chocking hazard so supervise with younger children around with the small pieces. Also love how easy and clean it is to store away 💯

Easily knocks over
Recommend this for older kids with body awareness. I didn’t think about how easy it would be to knock over when I ordered it. I’m a little bummed it’s complicated to construct. Hoping I can figure out a way to simplify for ease of making a track quicker. Otherwise quality is good- and the container part is convenient for clean up.

Very sturdy and encourages critical thinking!
This marble run is so well made and has soo many different ways it can be put together. It really encourages critical thinking. My students loved putting it together and thinking of all the different configurations they could make. I loved when they were finished it all fit right back into the box it came in!! Very sturdy!

Durable, high quality, fun
This is my favorite marble run and my son’s third favored marble run. What I love are: the quality and durability of the wooden materials, the different mechanisms, the bucket which acts as a storage unit *and* as a part of the play. It’s so well designed! I love that it comes with extensive instructions and an app. The idea is that different colors are “coded” differently, and thus help kids to learn an early form of coding without screens. Why isn’t this my son’s favorite? I think the blocks are opaque (wood) rather than plastic, so he can’t necessarily see what is going on or anticipate that some of the colors have those codes. In the instructional videos, they have signs on the blocks that give you a clue. I am thinking of drawing those signs on our blocks to help. I also notice that the color is just a little off from the instructions and the blocks that we have, which can be confusing. All of that said, it’s still my favorite one because of the durability/clean-up/space saving features. And I think my 3 YO will grow to love it more with time.

Complicated to set up but the kids seem to like it
My kids love marble runs and we've tried many different kinds over the years. I was excited to try this one because I like the brand and their wooden toys. It comes in a nice storage container which makes it easy to transport or store away. The container is packed to the brim with pieces for the run and the container and lid themselves are part of the suggested set up. It comes with step by step instructions to build the run. It's much more complicated than your traditional plastic marble run so I was surprised when I saw my older sun following the instructions to put it together and enjoying the process. I think he had more fun building it than both my sons had actually using it.There were some tears as it's very easy to knock over! Be careful once you get it set up. The marbles go many different ways and can end up in different bases which is cool. The different paths keep it interesting. It comes with extra pieces as well and plenty of marbles. You could also choose to make your own course with the pieces.Overall I think it's a fun challenge for kids around 7-8 years old but more complicated and harder to build & keep up than other runs. I like the portability and we bring it along when we go to visit relatives.

Working together
I ordered this for one of the kids upcoming birthday. I did however take a careful look at this HAPE 90 piece marble racer/stack track. My first impression is that the kids will likely work on this together. The older one will read through the directions and project manage while the younger ones create from their imaginations. It will need to be an activity that they do at a play table so they can work on it in stages and change it over time. The pieces are brightly colored and well made. The marbles are exactly what I expected and I was happy they came with a bag. There are clear directions and a downloadable app, something I probably will avoid because this hands on project is to build skill sets that allow them to work screen free. It seems very stable with clear directions on how to connect the pieces a number of different ways. I really like that the storage container becomes part of the foundation for this project. It’s a clever concept and I appreciate the forethought that went into the design. I will update my review after gifting it if there’s more to add. For now, I’m anticipating that it will encourage many hours of play and cooperation.

Fun for all ages
Our family has a long history of creating "marble machines" as we called them. This set is a wonderful addition to our architectural repertoire. Our granddaughter will love this! It incorporates the most enjoyable aspects of marble rolling; chance, multiple routes, and endless possibilities of configuration. We did put it together according to the first set of instructions; however, some of the blocks required were not there. It should have been stated that an expansion pack is needed. However, we improvised and had a blast. Next time we will definitely build on a bare floor and not carpet. It is a little unstable on Berber carpet, although it didn't totter after it was completely constructed. We used the extra blocks to build a "corral" for the marbles so they wouldn't race under the furniture at the end of their run. I'd recommend having more of the purple "filler" blocks in the set so that the recommended configurations can be completed, and because they are just plain useful. Even whit that drawback, it still deserves five stars.
