Great Little Fan
I got this fan as a Warehouse Deal for a few bucks off. It was listed as "Used - Like New" condition, and that is an accurate description. The instruction manual and advertisement for other Vornado products were in the box and there was really no way to tell that this was not a new item from looking at it. This fan is pretty basic, but it does exactly what I wanted it to. It moves the air in my office around to make it feel less stuffy and it is not so loud that it interferes with telephone calls or client meetings. I find that having it sit on my desk about 2-3 feet from my head I am able to feel a nice breeze on the whisper-quiet low setting. I imagine that on really hot days I will be able to click it up to high to cool off quickly. The high setting is definitely louder than the low setting (duh), but it is still not too bad for a personal fan. Of course, I have a private office, so your mileage may vary if you are using it in a cubicle setting or other shared space. Other than working exactly as advertised, the thing I like about this fan is its very spiffy aesthetic. It looks cool and even professional. Flipping it down into "pod mode" is kind of a cool gimmick, but I don't foresee doing that very much as it looks just fine flipped up in "fan mode". You can easily direct the air flow by moving the flippy part up and down and it also swivels left-to-right. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and I am seriously considering buying another one for my home office.
