Samsonite Silhouette XV Softside Luggage with Spinner Wheels, Napa Red, Checked-Large 29-Inch

Excellent suitcase. Very light and sturdy. You can feel quality, smart design and attention to detail. It is large, so it cold be easily go overweight if you pack solid. We used it for air travel with no size issues (it did lot look larger that many other's people's suitcases so I am not sure that is the problem that other reviewer claims it is). The 25" is maybe a better all-purpose size but this is perfect for a one-suitcase long trip.

Worked good for 7 years but The zippers broke after 7 years use

I bought the whole set 29, 25, 21 and very happy with my purchase. Worth the bucks I spent. Materials feels high quality and durable. Ample space inside. The spinners are very good. I especially like the handles, comes with gel filled pack which actually feel more comfortable. Overall feels sturdy. Caution: The bag sizes are slightly bigger for its height. Which may be oversize for some airlines. Recheck the dimensions again and verify with airlines limits.

I read many reviews online about luggage and then went in-person to a store and tried a bunch out, rolling them around, unzipping, etc. Bottom line: all luggage can break so you won't find any perfect products. Overall the reviews for this one were good and in the store it seemed a solid product. We've had other Samsonite luggage for 25 years and they have held up well. I especially liked the built in combination locks.

Horrible quality. After just one single trip it already has a hole near the seam. Plastic is scratched all around. We had 3 other Samsonite luggages with us, from 5 to 8 years old, none of them got holes after this trip, so I can’t blame the airport.

This is a great bag but you will be charged for oversized luggage if you check it on an airline since most airlines have a 62" linear limit. The dimensions stated are the dimensions for the body size which are under the oversize baggage limit BUT the airlines include the wheels and handles in the dimensions. According to Samsonite's website, the actual dimensions are: Body Dimensions: 29.5" x 21.0" x 11.0" Overall Dimensions: 30.5" x 21.0" x 12.25" That last spec is over the 62 inch limit therefore this bag, when it arrives, will be going back to amazon.

I needed to replace a larger case that the wheels broke off. I love traveling, so I wanted quality one to keep up. It is so much bigger than I’ve had before. I’m getting use to it, but it’s a load to put into the back of my SUV if I fill it up. Haven’t flown yet, but I’m sure it will go over all weight limits if I load it up. Love the silky smooth 4 wheels. I’m gliding effortlessly with a lotta load.

I was a bit concerned about the size, but this is a sturdy suit case which is great for longer trips. Just don't over fill to avoid extra weight charges on flights. I suggest buying a travel scale.
