Solar Fountain Pump with Panel - AMZTime 2.5W DIY Solar Water Pump Kit with 6 Nozzles and 4ft Water Pipe, Solar Powered Fountain for Bird Bath, Fish Tank, Outdoor Pond, Patio Garden

I actually bought this for use as the pump for a hummingbird feeder, after watching a YouTube video "Hummingbirds Birdbath How to Make $1 Flower Pot into EASY Hummingbird Solar Fountain". What I didn't think about was that our place for where the hummingbirds land is actually in the shade of the back side of our house. This means that it isn't a continuous stream of water. BUT... thankfully the way this item works is that when the light is very low, it runs the fountain for like half a second... then shuts down for a second, then runs the fountain for half a second... and so on. And the power is tiny: only enough to lift the water about 5 and a half inches when the panel is in the shade.It turns out though, that this tiny lifting ability, and intermittent operation, is still perfect for my use case. It's great to be able to make a birdbath so cheap!

The media could not be loaded. I know some have written less than positive reviews. I guess I have been blessed with a good pump. I had previously purchased this pump a couple of years ago. Held up to I would say heavy use. Decided to get a new one and chose this one again. I have actually had great success with it. Has pumping power that I would expect and runs well. It does state that it needs to have full sun for optimum operation. Well, yesterday had stormy weather, rain expected. I went out on the deck and that little pump was still bubbling even with complete cloud cover. Then rain came, still kept bubbling. (attaching photos/video). Although not full power pumping, the little bubbling was quite nice. I'm ordering another one for a different area and would recommend this one for a great little garden/bird bath addition.Update 5/6/2024: This little pump keeps on working. It's had pretty much constant use since I installed it. Even in the hint of sun behind clouds it still has a little bubbler action. I'm still pleased with it and did purchase another unit, no problems with it either.

This was great for my bird bath. Plenty of water and sun in Las Vegas, NV but yesterday it quit May 22, 2023 which I bought in April of this year. I cleaned it but it was already pretty clean, so no obstruction, the motor just quit...so disappointed...Update!!! the day after I posted this review the pump started to work....so will have to monitor it....ok here it is a week later and it runs then shuts off...plenty of sun here and where I have it, took apart a second time no debris put it back together and still not working... will have to look at an alternate

The media could not be loaded. I didn’t realize this was the same one I bought last time. It lasted about 6-7 months last time I bought it, which isn’t terrible for the price. My biggest issue is the ad clearly says their solar panel will work “even with a leaf on it” compared to other brands and this is simply not true. The moment any tiny shadow is on the solar panel, even in direct bright sunlight, if a tiny corner or anything is covered it stops working entirely. I’m already finding myself moving the panel constantly to keep it in the sun so I can enjoy the sound of running water. I decided to just return it for one with a battery back up since it’s only a few dollars more and they’re built to last longer and just work better all around.The pump/suction works well but these are not built to last. My last one worked for quite a while, but it very obviously wasn’t putting out the same amount of power after only about a month, even with cleaning it often.

Not sure if I got a bad pump or what since the reviews for this particular pump are good, but I bought this fountain in mid-July of last year (2022) to use for a hummingbird fountain. I assembled my fountain and had it in use from the end of July to the beginning of September (about 2 months) and it worked great. Before it could start freezing out, I drained the pump, cleaned it (full disassembly), and brought it inside for the winter. I brought it out and set it back up again at the beginning of April of this year (2023) and it was working great until earlier this week (less than a month), when it stopped working almost entirely, with the solar panel in full, very bright sun (upper 60's & clear skies). I completely disassembled the pump to clean it, but found nothing blocking/stopping the impeller and while the impeller wasn't spinning, it was occasionally "flinching" so the motor is getting power. Even though the solar panel looked clean, I wiped it off with a damp towel to see if that would improve solve the problem. It didn't. The pump & its solar panel have never been run dry, roughly treated, frozen, had the power cord kinked/damaged, or even been plugged up with debris...it just quit working for no reason.

Works well in the sun. Unfortunately it does not save a charge and only works when the sun is shining on the panel

This came with so many options for the pump it was exactly what I needed to get my small fountain up and running. I do wish it came with a stand or stake for the solar panel though.

I put this fountain out at the beginning of June and it died the last week of August. I cleaned it regularly and made sure it never ran dry. It worked great until it didn’t. I would expect it to last at least one Ohio summer. Very disappointing.

We keep this in our bird bath, keeps the water circulating. Will work for 24 hrs. On a bright sunny day where the panel had been charged all day. All the different heads make it so easy to adjust as needed. Have 2 of them and the one in a another location not as good, as more shade.

Very good in low sunlight and fantastic in full sun creates a good waterfall very pleased with purchase.

Good points include the accessories, nozels, hose and compact packaging and, unfortunately, a simple returns process. When it did work it managed to pump about 30-40cm head (height from the pump).Bad points: it only worked on full summer sun, clouds made it cut out. Came back the following day to see if there was any improvement - totally dead; sent for returns and will be looking for something a bit bigger.
