However, you can program another button to act as the cable box on/off command. If your mother does not or rarely uses the 'Mute' button then you could teach the remote the command of turning the cable box on and off. This would be the only possible way of doing it for the time being. We are currently in the process of designing a new remote to control both TV and Cable box at the same time but will have to be slightly more complicated. Much easier remote without the 50 extra tiny buttons no one ever uses. **Q: Will this work with stb's?** A: For Dish and DirecTV, you can hide the unwanted channels, making it fast when you scroll up and down the list. I don't remember how to hide channels on Dish, but on DirecTV, you create a Favorites list of the channels you want to see, and then you make your favorites list active. Like magic, you have hidden all of the unwanted channels!
