Universal Golf Cart 12 Volt Horn Kit Fits Club Car, EZGO, Ya-ma-ha Golf Carts or UTV Boat

I had to buy this device because the horn in the deluxe kit didn't work. I didn't want to go into sending a part back that came in a kit and go thru whatever hassle to have a replacement sent out. This one works fine and even has a volume adjustment.

It was a replacement so very easy to install.

All the sellers of this after market horn were basically the same as far as I could tell using the same equipment. The wiring harness is good and the right size. FYI this kit provides a standard mounting nut with no washer or locking washer with it. A simple locking nut (non backoff) should be used with golf cart installs because of vibration. The mounting plate is thin but OK. The install videos I found were pretty general, so here's my input. Jack the nose of the cart up so you access easier, mount towards the center of the inside cowling (utilize an existing support bracket bolt for attaching the provided plate) point the horn down so water can't get inside it, worm the wiring back and toss those cheap thin zip ties for heavier ones. The horn wires should go on ONE battery (using both its terminals). As an option EZGO makes a horn aluminum plate/decal you can order for $8 that provides that finish look for the floor switch. good luck

The horn sounds like a car horn, the wiring harness is complete and covered in a protective sleeve to route thru the firewall. The horn is a plastic material and should be mounted away from a heat source. The horn button mounted on the dash by drilling a hole to accommodate the button. I installed a fuse inline and ran it directly off of the battery for a "constant" on feature. I mounted this on an older tractor and needed to extend the wire to the horn by approx two feet. I am pleased with the purchase, it is a very simple horn, which is what I wanted.

Club Car - if you put the horn in the engine compartment the wiring harness is too short to reach the button. I had to cut and extend. The wiring to the battery won’t fit the positive post if you have one where positive is bigger than negative. I had to also cut and add bigger ring connector. The horn volume control is not functional but didn’t need it. The directions show a HORN ring decal for around the button. That part is not included. In the end it works fine but I probably spent as much making it work than original price.
