This thing is incredible and a game changer
First off I purchased this laser because I am frivolous. Nothing more. My wife would agree. The set up was super easy and I was already lazing my first item within 15 minutes of opening the box. You have to download the lazerpecker app. There are 2 apps. One is a basic one and one is a (studio) app with more options. It connects over Bluetooth to the app with ease. I have tried layering basically everything I own at this point. From yeti mugs that are powered coated to glass, metal, and wood. It does work on metal just fine you might just have to make multiple passes. I have not used any other lasers but this thing is speedy fast. The quality is that of an Apple product. Very high quality aluminum build and I believe that is part of the expensive cost. Should you purchase it? I can’t decide for you but at the hefty price tag I would only purchase it if you plan on selling items or doing custom orders. It takes up little space and looks great sitting next to my desk. Also if you plan on buying this make sure you have a garage or outdoor area to use it in as you definitely do not want to use this in your home. Depending on what you are layering it smells terrible. Overall I can recommend this item to a friend.

Great portable laser etcher for custom gifts and promo stuff
I've had it for a little over a year now and it's got some great features. I've used it on wood, cork (coasters), even some metal projects. The metal only really works if it has a coating over it that you etch away to reveal the metal underneath, that's the only downside on that. It's just not a powerful enough laser for really etching into the metal. I used it on coated tumblers with stainless steel under and it worked great, just make sure you use the roller with the tumbler otherwise the sides of your image may not work. All the other materials I've used it on work great though. It's pretty fast and I love how portable it is. I'd say it's great for small hobby projects and customized gifts. It's also really easy to use. Just open a photo inside the app and it will automatically trace it and let you change a few parameters to make sure it's what you want before you start the laser. I also like the laser preview box it can do to show you the area your image is going to cover. Overall, a great product.

First laser purchase
This is my first laser engraver, so I have nothing else to compare it with. However, it was easy to setup and start etching some designs using their software. Their software was easy to get up and running as well. I simply brought in a jpeg and started messing around with the settings. So far, it is simple, easy and fun. My only criticism, at the moment, is that the weight of the head unit with light-blocking attachment does pull the etch depth a little deeper into the left edge (side opposite of the Y-axis vertical column) of the design. I have checked the screw tightness and resorted to adding a cardstock shim between the head unit and the L-bracket. This helped level off the unit and the etch depth.

The software is very easy to use but there are some annoying glitches
I love how portable and powerful this laser is. It's my first and a guy that has a commercial laser said it was def. an art to get things to come out correctly. I've had fantastic results so far and I'm just getting started! There are some annoying issues with the software. For instance if you click the auto-crop button it erases the size of your image. Switching between other settings will do the same thing. It feels like it's built very sturdy. It's def. a quality piece of equipment.
